Spit or Swallow?

Well... what do you do?

So I've moved in fairly recently to a new house-share and one of the girls takes a ridiculously long time in the bathroom. I decided to save time that I'd start brushing my teeth while in the hall. After a while I was done but had nowhere to get rid of it (other bathroom smells and the smelly housemate lives in the next room there) so I came to a head. What should I do?

I did what was needed to be done. What would you have done in the same circumstance, considering that both bathrooms are not available - spit or swallow?

Should I ask herself when she gets out actually?

I'd say after swallowing a certain amount of toothpaste you could fall ill. Or by saving money on breakfast - end up rich.

You don't drink your bath water do you, so why drink the water you wash your teeth with so.

brush when you get to work. let the saliva rebalance the ph of your mouth after your breakfast. if you brush too soon after eating when your mouth is more acidic, then you'll cause some tooth wear, which will give you bother in a few years!

Spit it into a cup and use it to brush your teeth the next time.

Repeat until the liquid in the cup becomes brown :pac:

Brush straight after waking up, otherwise you wont see the benefits of brushing. As all the plaque will end up in your stomach with your food.

Ya but she's got a short fuse when it comes to her bathroom time, I mean like if I'm in there longer than ten minutes showering Id briefly wonder if they thought I was abusing myself... I'm not saying both can't be done in that space of time :rolleyes: but ffs like 20 mins in a morning. :mad:

wait a sec, so if you brush last thing at night, why brush straight after waking up?
there's no point brushing before you eat, better to brush at the start of a gap between meals.

You brush at night to remove the bacteria built up during the day.

You brush before breakfast to remove the plaque that has built up over night. Otherwise you just digest it, which is bad.

so in the morning, do you brush your teeth, eat, then brush again?
the plaque that builds up during the night should have little or no food/sugar to eat on so a well cleaned mouth before bed won't be causing much trouble.
