Buy a present no more than 70 quid is plenty.

They're lucky to have me there. In fact, they should give me money for attending.

Depends on who they are - friends, relations etc?

Give them a bondage kit and lube in a discreet package. Then swap cards with someone else and stick it to the package!

thats a tough one - ive seen people say that they pay 100 or 150-200 for a couple. thats complete madness i think (unless its a really close family member)
it also costs so much to attend most weddings - some of the possible costs: outfit, babysitters, drinks, transport, hotel, possibly even flights, day off work (that may be holidays or unpaid leave) and so on

its all good craic but its a bloody expensive day - so i wouldnt be going overboard on pressies.

i usually get a thoughtful gift or if theres a wedding list i do that - no more than 50 though.

i want to give good pressies and i try to suss what they need or want - rather than get a generic pressie like a toaster, glasses, frames. but at the same time i dont buy into the idea that a pressie should cover the cost of you being invited.

DIY Divorce for Dummies, they'll soon appreciate it as the best gift they got.

6?! It's only a wedding! A 2 litre of Linden Village will do them.

Used be €150 back in the day . . . but that day is long gone now [sucks pipe].
    I say €100 if you're going as a couple.

Could be the wrong forum for this question :D

I thought 100 per person was the norm, shows how stupid I am.

that was in the boom times though - even then though... i never went that far. the only people ive ever spent that much on were two cousins i love to bits and am close to. spent 250 on one of them but that was for handmade name place cards with these glass stone trinkets people could keep.

No, it's the perfect forum! Ask a reasonable question and AH turns into a cross between the Coliseum and Bedlam. Deadly.

I'm going to a wedding soon, I was going to get them a present but I hear they just want the money. It makes no difference to me I can just give them the €19.99 and they can spend it in Lidl on what they want.

I wasn't sure what forum alright..
I had heard crazy amounts in the boom times of €300 + per couple.

    Thanks for all your advice..

Usually a toaster but don't want to seem too scabby or unoriginal so I also throw in a loaf of tesco bread

You could at least bring Brennan's bread ffs

Which reminds me, that 'Ould Mr Brennan' was a right mouthy cunt wasn't he?! All the ads are of him trying to be a smartarse, bet he got what was coming to him in the end tho! :pac:
