    Hi all

I have a couple of questions that I hope you can help me with:

    1. I want to do an MA in French Language and Culture in London by distance/online learning. Its a 2 year part time time course. I am based in the West of Ireland and doing this course to further a business venture I have undertaken as it will add weight to what I am doing and help grow the business (just mentioning this for funding ideas)

It starts this semester so I have obviously missed out on applying for funding through research councils so have you any idea how I can get funding for this at such a late stage?

Is there a possibility to start the Masters and get refunded for fees I paid if I do get funding from somewhere?

Is there any grants available considering it is through a UK university?

Can you recommend anywhere to apply for funding for something like this?

    2. I am also looking at doing the PGDE in Languages full time in UL starting September 2012 or 2013 (depending on the Masters). Is there funding or grant available for this?

*Moderators: Can I also post this in the postgraduate forum?

I believe there are no grants for any masters outside of the country.

You can only get grants for Masters that are full time and in Ireland or Northern Ireland

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    Hi

Thanks for the replies. What other avenues of funding are available then for someone undertaking study in the UK?

And can I apply for funding for the PGDE in UL or is it only for masters and above?

Very little at Masters level, even for British (and UK resident) students. The fact that it's distance learning and part-time would reduce your chances further. However, you could try any kind of interest groups/organisations who operate in the field of what you're planning to study or the area of the market your business is going to be in.
