Are men's nipples/areola as innervated as women's?

I'm curious and also too lazy to look it up. I figured one of you pervs might already know. ;)

    So, are they?

I'm just wondering why more men don't like attention there. Or maybe they do. I haven't met many like that myself. Or maybe they were shy about saying so.

Please don't sexually objectify my - admittedly functionally obsolete - breasts.

    Thanks.

It's strikes me as a bizarre mix of inverted and enervated but its actually a word. :)

How do you mean "more men"?

How many mens nipples have you licked?

People actually talk about these things believe it or not! Personal experimentation to find out for myself is therefore unnecesary.

Does innervated mean sensitive or something?

If yes then, some are and some aren't.

    You're welcome

    So, are they?

If you'd find it interesting, my own personal experience is that pre-HRT my nipples weren't really sensitive at all, but after starting HRT they are extremely sensitive and getting even more sensitive. While everyone's different really, I would say that hormones make a night and day difference, and that it's probably down to this that men's nipples are less sensitive.

Hey, if I'm going through transition, might as well gleam a few interesting observations, right? ;)

    For science! :pac:

    TMI warning:
Now that you mention it, mine were never that sensitive till after I had kids.

Thanks! You've cured my wondering about this. :)

Am I the only one that read the title as 'inverted' and had a horrible apprehension dawn on them that there must be a load of women with 'inny nipples' running round the place that through some miraculous freak luck I must have avoided up to this point somehow?

No, I read it as inverted too. Imagine having inney nips and an outey belly button.

    Wouldn't that be a scream?

That makes quite a lot of sense, 'cos breasts will grow even more during pregnancy.

And yay, my knowledge was good for something! :D

Yeah, I'm more than a little dumbfounded, and I'm wracking my brain to think of a way you could've been more crude, but this is after hours anyway... :o I've no answer for your question though, I'd probably have to ask someone else.

    Interesting!

And now I'm wondering about pain thresholds and sex. I think I'm just gonna Google that so I don't annoy hondasam any more than I already have. :P

women have a much higher pain threshold than men in most body parts but nipples in women are built from much sturdier stuff as theyre basically made to be bitten by women. I was a piercer for years and women were always very suprised at how little piercing nipples hurt compared to their expectation, whereas men would usually wince and yell a bit.

The internet disagrees - though there are studies that show the opposite, men appear to have higher pain tolerance.

    I found this interesting:
Of course, sorting out the gender disparities of pain responses doesn't boil down to women being the weaker sex. Rather, male and female bodies don't process pain the same way. If a man and a woman each place their hands on a hot stove, different parts of their brains will activate. In 2003, researchers at UCLA discovered that the cognitive, or analytic, region of the male brain lights up, while the female limbic system, the brain's emotional headquarters, springs into action.

Ok, I've asked about, and have been told from a number of different sources that the muscles are very much the same and are able to contract and grip. So there you go, penises can be crushed. :) Just in case you try to get any cruder, if your next question involves ping-pong balls, the answer is yes. :pac:
