surely there is enough evidence in the history books to suggest nothing but german hypocrisy between germany and the world.

From working in Germany the general feeling is:

Why are public servants paid so much?

How can most people in Ireland on social welfare make more than German minimum wage? (this relates to take home after medical insurances/tax etc)

We send you money to live like kings! (spat at me in a pub)

The situation is slowly stewing away and each time I arrive in Munich I am bombarded with questions and see more exposure on national TV.

Their ecomomy was the fastest to grow after world war two and their citys built back up ,much faster than all the British and European countrys to .

Maybe this is what 'ol kraut britches was getting confused with...

    Horst-Wessel Lied’ - Horst Wessel (1930-45)
This song performed a dark, dubious and dangerous political function in that it provided European fascism (the lyrics were modified for use in Britain, Spain and France) with an extremely catchy song that was terrifyingly effective at galvanising a mob. Its melody was not original but was that of an old, northern European folk song taken up by the Nazi Party as its anthem between 1930 and 1945. The lyrics were written by SA commander Horst Wessel, who was murdered by an anti-fascism activist in 1930. Also known as ‘Die Fahne Hoch’ (‘The Flag on High’), its tune and lyrics are now illegal in Germany and Austria.

You'd swear they were giving us the money for nothing.

Ireland is 20% dearer than other European countries for starts.

I don't blame them, they are at the moment keeping the whole Euro afloat with very little thanks.

People would want to wake up and realise the service Germany is doing us.

They want shot of the Euro and when they eventually have had enough and return to their mighty Mark the P.I.G.S and more of Europe will experience genuine poverty, a genuine disaster.

If I was a german I would want out of the Euro.

    Silly Günther stop short.

A better plan is for citizens from these countries to wear an armband when travelling within the non-bailout countries. Ireland's can be a green armband with a harp.

This way the superior EU citizens can easily point out and ridicule people from the bailout counties.

Aren't they a big manufacturing country?

Wouldn't a strong currency destroy them if the eurozone fells apart considering other countries couldn't afford to import from them.

Indeed not but if you read my post, you would have read what I actually stated: "coming from a generation or background..."
    /end of.

I know a good few german people and I can easily accept that he's one of very much a minority in these wacky thoughts.
I hope its that way to be honest and stays that way.

I wonder what would have happened to Germany if billions hadn't been pumped into the ****hole 60+ years ago??
    QUOTE]

Not only did Germany receive billions under the Marshall Plan but at a international conference in London in 1954 Germany received debt forgiveness of 50% for its World War Two debts.

Its only 10 years ago when Germany's budget deficit was above the allowed level under the Euro rules and it ran that way for years.

Why do Germans get so excited when it comes to flags?

The British want to loosen ties with the Euro and have long being hinting at it .

Have to agree Biggins. I'm quite fond of the Germans, but this guy should get a stinging hot chili bratwurst, and shove it somewhere

He sounds delightful, maybe he will get all the countries involved to wear a star so that people know we are dirty debt ridden rats.

When did they stop charging interest to bail out their banks?

They would at least have more control over their own currency. But yes an impoverished europe is not good for anyone never mind germany.

Take us, if the Punt was reintroduce we would be lucky if it was worth one third of what the euro is.

So imported things like fuel would be 3 times dearer, and our wages would not increase.

Iceland for example when their currency collapsed.

True but you have to wonder why they're continuing to bother manafacturing stuff when they merely export the profit to Greece, Portugal and ourselves via the ECB. :pac:

This flag thing is stupid... what would it achieve other than further weakening any cohesion still left in the EU, symbolic or otherwise.
    All animals are equal etc.

It's a good idea but it doesn't go far enough. All Irish citizens should be forced to have their heads shaved and have a green star attached to their clothing, that'll teach us!
