Audi A5 vs Baby

Was in work today and one of the lads brought in his new car, an Audi A5, so a few of us went out for a look, we were about 2 mins late signing and we got a small bit of grief from our ATL's.

Later on tht day, one of the girls brought her new baby in for a visit and half the floor took off for 15 mins, ATL's included. The office is 80% female......and nothing was said! How's tht fair!!

Not being sexist, just bothered me tht we got grief.

The baby was a cute little fella...and I'm a little jealous, what a car!

No wonder. The guy who owns the Audi didn't have to squeeze it out of his hole.

    :p

Seriously OP, I agree it's not fair that you guys got grief, but the above is probably where the mindset comes from...

    Audi drivers are usually ****.

I'm not surprised the baby got more interest.

Damn it, I was expecting a story about a baby who managed to lift an Audi to rescue someone, or throw it at a supervillain.

I guess I'll just have to keep waiting for a superhero to appear :(.

They drive me demented, all the squealing and gurgling from grown women.
    And the comments
"He's so small, look at his little hands"

Of course he's small and got little hands, he's a ****ing baby!

And don't ask me if you think he's gorgeous, all babies look like Winston Churchill mated with a potato

I was expecting a moral dilemma of choosing between having a baby or buying a new A5.

    First of all, I wouldn't shít on a A5.

Secondly, I can't understand some woman who do this. What the Fu©k do they want? A medal? It's a child not a trophy ffs. Oh and by the way, 100's of million of women have had children long before you so get over yourself.

Oh in case the above is misinterpreted? I have no problem admitting women's superiority to men, I tell my wife that quite regularly. Especially when she rests her latex boots upon thine chest.

    LOL
I would have chowed your asses for leaving the office to look at the car, the car will still be there after working hours and you could have had a look in your own time.

But the baby you cant leave that in the car park till after work, so sorry I am on the side of the girl with the sprog.

Assistant Team Leader's, the people who go around when you are texting or if you are 16 secs late! Like those kids in school who were 'Class Captain' and went on power trips when they had to mind the class when the teacher was away.

Was nothing we got thick over, we were just having a laugh during our afternoon smoke about it!

I let other cars out in traffic, I warn drivers if there is speed checks, go safe vans.
The drug selling is a nixer I do at the weekend while delivering pizza.

Pretty sure that with some careful negotiation with some unscrupulous gangsters you could sell a baby for more than the value of an A5. Just saying like.

Yes but this individual hasn't had 100s of millions of babies, nothing wrong with a woman feeling proud of her new baby, as a matter of fact that's a good thing.

All mothers are proud of their little bundles of joy and so they should be, some of their work friends will want to see the baby.
I think the OP is just annoyed they were not given as much time to look at a car.

    Gotcha.
People who you can't trust to actually do anything, you'd be afraid to put in charge of anything, but can't quite find a reason to fire them and since they have a talent for annoying people you make that park of their job description. Gotcha.

You should have put the baby driving the A5, placed a few bets and told the ATL's to go f**k themselves:D

She can care, she can care all she likes. What she cannot do, however, is expect others to care.

To be fair, buying an A5 is a lot tougher than giving birth. And mechanics are a lot more complex and interesting than the wonder that is the creation of a living organism.

The majority of humans, not just women, are mentally wired to find babies cute so we'll take care of them. It's their one defense mechanism, cuteness. Same goes for most mammals' young. Large eyes in proportion to head size etc. are designed to cause pity or a caring instinct in us, which usually manifests itself as "awwwlookathelicklebabawiththeteenyweenyhandsandrosycheeksandbleurghargharghargharghargh*breath*eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!". Annoying, I know, but you can't really blame us.

Ohh but she does, its such an important event in a parents life. Especially a first child, so a mother after bonding with her new baby want to show the baby to her colleagues. So we understand and say all the mandatory things, "ahh lovely, so cute, the image of you, crack a stupid joke etc" then go back to work.

I undestand why she would do that, but as for the car situation I would have chowned the bollox of those people.

Well, she shouldn't. Why would anyone else be required to care? It's something that's important to her, let her be excited.

I wouldn't expect anyone to automatically care about something that I consider to be important. I wouldn't even bore them with the details.
