Looking at a woman without checking her out?

I was walking down the aisle on the train the other day and as you inevitably do, i looked at the people as i passed by. i happened to make eye contact with a girl who was insecurely txting on her phone while i was passing by. I looked at the girl for a split second and for some reason, she through her eyes up to heaven. i was quite offended by her act as i felt she was somehow insinuating something. i came to the conclusion that she thought i was checking her out. i wondered to myself was this girl capable of differentiating between someone who just happens to look at you and someone who happens to check you out, as there is a difference or am i wrong?

Can a man look at a girl without checking her out or are men just after one thing?

If you look like a slum dog, expect this to happen a lot.

She thinks she's all that and a bag of chips.

Don't mind her, any normal person would just shrug it off, she obviously has high opinions of herself.

There is no clear answer to this question, stop thinking about it, it will only make your head hurt.

People look at each other for millions of different reasons.

Perhaps she was throwing her eyes up to a text that she had gotten and not you?

The subtle cure-all to social situations of this type - a quiet fart in their general direction.

(For extreme situations in this category - the stink palm)

For someone not checking out a bird, you seemed to have noticed an awful lot about her.

So, tell us... did she have big bouncy titties, or small pert ones?

Its a very fine line, people are going to be looking at ya for 2 reasons, if you're good looking or else funny looking... maybe she was a bit of a minger and felt self conscious and wasn't in the mood to be looked at? or maybe she thought "another minger checking me out FML..."

OP - You don't work as a train conductor by any chance do you?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,940 ✭✭✭4leto

The OP is an amateur, fret not after many such reactions you will learn how to use your peripheral vision, check out and not walk into poles.

PS less of the lame excuses, you were caught, it happens us all.

Pffft..... if you want to do it properly wear sunglasses and get a guide dog harness for your dog and a white stick..
If you are really good invite the good looking women with low cut tops over to bend down and pet your faithfull guide dog

What..? She's sitting on a train, texting (so you think, how would you know what she was doing on her phone though) to distract herself? From what? You?

Next time I'll remember that when I text on a train, I'm "insecure".

    lol.

Well I am not going to lie, when I meet a woman for the first time I have a tendency to check them out. Think it is more of a habit that I picked up in my earlier years than anything else.

I have tried my best not to and to look at the person's face when I talk to them or whatever but sometimes I just can't help it:o

Same thing happened me a while back OP. Was just people watching and this girl must have thought I was checking her out. In fairness she was good looking but her body was meh so wouldnt be my type anyway.

I dunno, when you say aisle I get the picture of a posh, well to do man, with a monocle, which you raise at your surprise at such a unbecoming reaction by this girl as you depart the train. Next time, go first class.

I read somewhere that women secretly like being leered at. I think it was in my diary.

I read somewhere that men are not very good at reading body language, especially facial expressions in women.
and just in case you don't believe me have a go at this test
it gets to the determining facial expression bit in part 3.

Well haven't you little to be offended about? A girl rolls her eyes at a strange man LOL If she was as insecure as you say she is, it wouldn't matter if you were checking her out or not - sometimes girls are simply wary of strangers looking at them, it's something that's ingrained in them from when they are tiny! How old was she?

How come if you accidently make eye contact with a good looking girl you think you've been caught looking at them and not that they've been caught looking at you?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 3,144 ✭✭✭Scanlas The 2nd

When you accidentally make eye contact with a hot woman across a room don't look away until she does and don't make any facial expressions until she does. It feels like an eternity ( I think only babies are better at out staring people than hot women) but eventually she will smile and then you can smile. Then it's easy to go over and say hi. I've done this numerous times, it really works, but you will be shocked at how long hot women hold your gaze before breaking it. Just remember she's been staring at you as long as you have at her. Give it a try, it's surreal.

Because the girl wasn't the one rubbing her legs up and down and breathing heavily.

Don't look away and don't make any facial expressions? So just sit there staring like a psycopath?

Er...right then. That's not creepy at all. I'd imagine those girls are just smiling nervously for fear of you stabbing them to death and wearing their skin.
