    Hi all,
    I'm going crazy at the moment. I only realised that I was not getting payments in the post office yesterday after the social welfare offices were closed.
    I had a crazy busy couple of weeks with 3 birthdays going on and I went away up the country last week with a few of my friends so I missed my payments then.
    I have been on the social welfare for a number of months now which makes it even worse. I have never missed a sign on date before this.
    I only realised last night that my signing day was actually the tuesday before last.
    I am going in straight away when they open. I am just wondering what i might be in for. I't will be absolute hell if if I've been kicked off.

    In fact, it depends on where your local SWO is located.

    Some SWOs will allow you to sign on the day you walk in after you allocated signing date, others will give late signers as little as a one hour window to sign the following week.

    The fact that your last signing day was 2 weeks ago will probably not be very relevant. They might assume you missed the late signer's day too.

    Your payment ought to be in the Post Office on the third day after the day you finally sign (or the next working day following that).

    I'm sorry if this offends but this kind of thing annoys me to hell. Your tied up with birthdays and traveling up the country with friends? Are you not supposed to be out looking for work. As well as that you are doing those things and enjoying life while those of us who are at work are paying for you to do so.

    @Lovelyhurling
    Thanks for the info, much appreciated. I went down yesterday anyway and i'm going to get my money next week. Delighted deffinately not going to happen again.

    I unsterstand how it would be frustrating but you misunderstand. This is certainly not a regular thing for me, I am looking for work, am currently in a fas course and i barely have enough money to get by. The last two weeks were more of a struggle then fun for me but i showed up anyway.
