    hi Ladies!!! :)

    not long to Christmas now(woohoo!)

Is there anyone doing little things in order to look/ feel better in preparation for the festive period??

I'm doing a "Lent" before Christmas if you like, giving up wine and chocolate and all things nice!!! working out good, saving a few Euro's as a result too!!!

Get a Shellac manicure. Lasts 2 weeks and will keep your hands looking lovely for the party season.

I wish I could get awesome manicures and gel nails, can't have them for work though.

I don't do much to prepare for it, really I should do what you're doing and give up bold food and alcohol for a while before but I don't :p I'm dyeing my hair tonight, that's kind of it. I have a party to go to this weekend, a very posh one, so am just covering up my lighter shade's regrowth in time for all the parties :)

I can't believe it's Christmas in about 4 weeks time or so?! December is only a week away and it just doesn't feel like Christmas is around the corner at all?! Or anywhere near the season for that matter ..... Or maybe it's just me ....

People are usually on about Trees and decorations and what-not right after Halloween and it doesn't feel as if there's any Xmas-hype at all .....

Maybe once December starts it'll feel more like it.

Where have you been?? :p Ray Foley's keeps playing Mariah Carey intro, Christmas ads are on tv, shops have decorations up and for sale for weeks, we bought a new tree last week and I worked at a Christmas Fair two weeks ago!

My only preparations are to keep my fingers in my ears and repeat LA LA LA NOT LISTENING until I finish up in work for Christmas on 16 December.

Then the festive season may start. :pac: Will probably do all my shopping in that last week, and I haven't even thought about new clothes yet.

In terms of looking/feeling better? More running, but that's more because I'm rebuilding a base after being ill for weeks in September and October. I'm also taking quite a few yoga classes at the moment, and watching my diet a bit, but that's more of an "I want to feel better" thing than an "I must look good for Christmas" thing.

If I get the money together, I'll go for the obligatory Christmas haircut...so exciting :D

It's hard to get excited for Christmas when I've got exams until the 21st though :(

But after the 21st, I'm going to be so excited!

It's not just you! I don't watch TV or listen to the radio that often so I completely miss all the Christmas ads. But I haven't noticed a very Christmas-y feeling in shops yet. Maybe I'm just oblivious to what's happening around me. :p

I don't prepare for Christmas at all, beyond the clothes shopping trip my mother forces me to go along with every year. I may get my hair cut next month but that's as far as my seasonal prettifying will go!

Im not feeling mega christmassy yet either-although gonna put up the tree and break out the xmas cd on december 1st-it shouldnt really start til then anyway imo.

Im not doing anything special, although I might get some gel nails come payday now its been mentioned :D Im going to Rome halfway through december so hopefully going to treat myself to something for the season there-maybe a nice winter coat.

Going to get my hair cut, maybe coloured. SO excited, haven't had a cut since May! I might ask my brothers for a mani-pedi voucher, since coming back from my J1 I really miss the $20 mani-pedis :p

Getting my hair done, might just tell the hairdresser to do something completely different, but I'm scared  :p
Trying to mind my diet, so I'll lose a few pounds before Xmas, so I don't feel so guilty indulging ;)

I started buying some presents this week, I hate the toy shops nearer Christmas so I am aiming to get it all done before Dec. Buying gifts always gives me that Christmas feeling.

You must be humming it in your sleep at this stage :D what a tune, can't help but love it!

Only got Shellac done once before, the gloss of the colour was lovely on my nails, and I couldn't believe it stayed on so well (I got bored though and took it off myself with acetone), would advise you to go back & get it taken off/reapplied in the salon - less hassle. Usually the cost of it includes removal ;)

Sounds like the plan! maybe all my cents saved from my "Lent" for Christmas might help with a manicure treat...
might start out with something simple first.... take some inspiration from gaga herself...:pac:

Hmm, my preparation is slightly different. I am cooking Christmas Dinner for the first time ever for my family. I have signed up to do a one day Christmas Cookery day in a cookery school to get a few tips on how to prepare.

I just received the list today of what we'll doing. Most of it is what you would expect - preparing stuffing, gravy, ham, turkey etc but the starter is Cappucino Soup??? Can't wait to see what that involves and if I have the courage to serve it to my family!

Today I had a trial "Christmas Day" and it was amazing. I'm terrible at cooking, but hate processed foods so made EVERYTHING from scratch myself - including the icecream and trifle :) -- icecream will need a little work but overall I was delighted. It was delicious and the smoke alarm did not even cheer me on

Strangely, Im a lot better at baking than cooking and this will be my 5th year to make a Christmas cake, make the almond paste and ice it. I fear Ive left it very late to bake the cake though - damn working so much

I'm starting to feel Christmasy what with all the films on and stuff in the shops but I'm holding off til the 1st of December!!

My preparation is to pack my bags for heading home (I'm a freak- packing 3 weeks in advance :o ) and making lists of presents I'm making/buying.

I am getting there but find it be nearly December before I feel any bit festive despite trying to get in the Christmas shopping in before hand! Saves time, money and hassle. Doing so mostly online this year. Want to get it all done before the bad weather starts. Mild so far but could turn nippy quickly.

Looking forward to a nice peaceful maybe quiet Christmas this year but looking forward to spending it with friends and family just to chill out and relax!

Not quite in the spirit yet myself; three more weeks of thesis work to finish up this semester and then I'll let myself embrace the holiday spirit. I have to say I'm really excited for it this year, probably because it's been the most trying year at school so far. it's the decorating that's the best part for me; the light and warmth of it all amidst the darkest and coldest part of the year! My mam and I always do up a nice garland, buy a real one and put flowers and leaves and some ornaments into it, then hang it up near the hearth. And there's nothing like an open fire this time of year. As far as myself goes....just some jogging with the dogs really, stress relief more than anything!

Probably not the correct thread for this but anyway...

Male here looking for some inside info on things to fill a hamper up with. Have the bulk of it done but could do with a couple of other things. Have the pj's/slippers/socks got, cds/dvds etc...anything else you guys recommend? Perfume has been purchased too :)
