After yesterdays duck shooting i got a invite back down to there pheasant shoot today meeting up for 9am i arrived at 8 am hate being late . A quick chat to the lads and the talked about the plan for today the had taken a big farm and rear 1400 pheasants and 300 duck walked up and a bit of driven birds was the plan for the day . The could not have being more help full putting me in good spots in the first 3 drives i shot the first bird that was safe clean kill on a cock few of the lads bagged a few more we moved near the duck pond wooded area shaped in a L hunting down one side guns spread out all along a nice cock came out to me but it was in line with one of the other guns i called out and the cock was shot few ducks got up i shot one we had added 6 ducks and 9 pheasants at the end of the drive At the next drive i was in front with the walking guns and dogs pushing out i shot a good crossing bird and followed up with a cock bird climbing to get over the trees it was 12 o clock so the counted up 29 pheasants and 12 duck and 1 woodcock i did get a chance at a wood cock but it was to near me one of the other guns shot him we had lunch some of the guns had to go away
so it was decided that we would walk the boundry ditchs in the afternoon but before the went the filled feeders on the top half of the shoot . As we started we met a few bird added 2 more we covered a lot of ground few more birds shot a few missed finishing up around 3 pm have to say it was a great days shooting nice lads and a great shoot its a pity more gunclubs dont take a leaf out of there book so much sport to be had as one of the older guns said to me you get out what you put in and he is right the total bag was 39 pheasants 15 mallard 2 woodcock great days shooting and plenty left for the rest of the season
