My desktop has on start up started to beep then reboot then will start up and beep then reboot and then start up normally. I know it's most likely a hardware problem but has anyone seen this before and know what it is exactly?

Thanks in advanced for any help.

Normally the problem would repeat itself in a loop, 90% of the time it's a poorly seated or defective ram but check all the motherboard connections while your at it.
If your case is full of dust it'll need a blow out aswell.

If that doesn't help start by unplugging things at boot, keyboard/mouse/printer etc., see if you can isolate the problem device.

Yeah it's just on startup, I thought it was the ram so I did the usual take them out put them back in to see if it was that. I'll try the motherboard connections.

    Thanks

Found the problem. Wireless adapter I had installed had died and I didn't notice because i had been using a handy dongle instead. Thanks for all replies.
