Shower not starting water flow

    Hi

I recently got a replacement shower installed with a new Monsoon 2bar pump, but the shower is either very slow to start the water flow when turned on, or I have to turn on the sink tap, then I get the water flowing from the shower.

I am in a ground floor apartment and the immersion heater is around same height level as the shower unit, is this contributing to the problem ? New pump is at floor level in utility room next to bathroom. My Previous shower with pump in bathroom also needed a boost by putting shower head lower down to get hot water running, I thought the new shower and new pump would solve all this ? Any suggestions ?

I have a recollection from the monsoon installation manual that the pump has to be within a certain distance of the hot water cylinder - basically immediately beside and below it. Check the diagram on it.

The other things to check are the pressirisation of the pump pressure vessel if it has it (I used a bicyle pump and car tyre pressure probe for mine to match pressure noted in the pump manual ) and sometimes the flow switch can be stuck, which can be fixed by rubbing a decent magnet at the flow switch

It sounds like all your plumbing is on the same level and as said above if you follow the diagarams in the book you might be in negative head pressure. If this is the case you need to have a negative head pump. I dont imagine you do.

Can you tell us any more , how high the shower head is from the pump, can you compare using the pump diagrams and take pictures of the tanks where its connected and pump.

    Thanks for the replies.
Been out tonight so I'll post some pics tomorrow. New Pump is at floor level, shower head is about 6ft or so, lowering it down does seem to help the water flow through. Immersion heater is at floor level in living room. Bathroom is across the hallway, using the existing pipes to pipe water through to bathroom across the hall, and the new pump is in utility room next door to bathroom, with new piping going through the bathroom wall to it. So its not directly next to the immersion. Will have a look at the manual tomorrow. Thanks again for the replies.
