The South East Road Club announce details of the 2012 edition of the 3-Peaks Challenge. With 110km and 70km versions, taking place over the same routes as previous years, this event takes in some of the major climbs in Co. Wicklow and is sure to provide a challenging, yet thoroughly enjoyable ride through this scenic part of the country.

Event HQ is the Arklow Rocks GAA complex. Directions to the start and a course map will be provided nearer the time.

Please note that the date is 1st April, and not as originally stated in the CI calendar.

See SERC Website for further details.

Was up and down SM and SE today. There is a very bad pot hole opened up on the descent of Slieve Maan. The debris from the pot hole is all across the road and will be dangerous if you can't get it swept and cleared a bit.

Good day out today - lovely weather and a nice but challenging course over Slieve Maan and Shay Elliot. Nice bit of food at the finish and a hot shower, which is always a bonus.

Course marking could have been a bit clearer, I thought. A lot of the road markings were right on the junction, so you didn't get any warning. I certainly missed one turn and had to double back.

Thanks to the marble city guys for putting on a highly organised chaingang on the way beck into Arklow. My Garmin reported 106.66km, 1430m of climbing and 3:40 rolling.

I met a load of lads doing this on the Shay Elliott hill earlier, came over it from Laragh, and was turning at the bottom to head back the same direction as the them, got caught in the wrong gear and absolutely snotted myself, so if anyone who saw some noob falling at the crossroads...that was me!

I think I was with you on the last 40 km of the cycle, did you go wrong with 5/6 km to go.

Great day, serious petelon at the start, few wexford wheelers put the hammer down for the first 35 km. Enjoyed the group of 12 coming back from Rathdrum, made it hell of alot easier... Will do it next year..

Yep - that was me. Downhill section with a sudden kick to the left, and I went straight on.

It was a great group with everyone doing their turns on the front.
