I just got my car back from replacing the clutch, but I noticed that some metal caps are missing off the wheels. Would there be an issues with this? Rust?

Non driven wheels, as they appear to be, must have caps on them or water and grime from the road will enter the wheel bearings and ruin them in no time. Bring it back to wherever did your clutch.

The driven wheels on the other hand would normally look similar to the ones in your picture.

What car is it OP and are they the front or rear wheels?

Its an Opel Astra and they are the front wheels.

They look like the front driven wheels to me. Are you sure there was caps on there before? There rarely is over the end on the CV joint.

NO caps required. They are fine as they are. Just put your hubcaps on, if you have them.

The little bit of new looking rust is because those nuts on the drives would have been undone when replacing the clutch.

Thanks. Should they not be covered to prevent rust?

There should be a metal cover on the bearing, in the centre of the wheel that stops crud from ruining the bearing. The wheel nuts don't need to have covers so don't matter.

That's not a wheel bearing though, that's a retaining nut for a CV joint on the front wheel of a FWD car. They mostly don't covers.

On many rear wheels of a FWD car, the nut you can see retains the wheel bearing. These should always have a cover/cap on them.

    Where is the bearing then?

Encased in the hub. Sealed on both sides but the hub(outside) and the CV joint(inside)

Give them a good spray with some anti rust spray and stick on hubcaps from some motor factors/aldi.
Remember the obligatory cable tie :D
