yellow light in fiesta 01 zetec

    Friend has an 01 fiesta zetec 1.25 like this model The yellow engine warning light has been on for 6 months but the car drives fine. He has lost job and has no money to get it seen to or get a computer diagnostic

    Could it be a false alert as the car drives very well?

    Not usually a false alert.

    He should check the cheap stuff first, check there's no hold in any hosing for air intake, check air filter is clean and secure. Check spark plugs are ok. After that it's pretty much guess work, could literally be anything causing the fault.

    disconnect and reconnect battery might be an idea...if its a false warning, it may go out... coil pack always a suspect on zetecs apparently...cheap fix if it is, DIY job

    looking at this video I do not see the air filter in my friends car as it in this one and in his manual, to right of battery as you look at car from front

    Can the digital display be unlocked to show the meanng of the yellow light?
