I am getting very tired of the bickering dominating the Meath & Kildare threads so this is the ONLY place to discuss the game tomorrow.

RTE's preview can be found here

I haven't being following the teams in the league this year, but Meath have had 3 games after almost being caught by Carlow while Kildare have being waiting for this day for a while, the bookies have Kildare 1/4 favourites and they rarely get it wrong, the handicap of 4 points looks a good bet as well.

Kildare win will this handy, Meath are a very poor team. Meath are a team on a downward spiral and their fans will get their just deserts.

Kildare should win but so often we have lost games we thought we should have won, All Ireland Final 98 springs to mind painfully.

Id love a crack at the Dubs again ;)

    Welcome back Cill Dara/Micky :pac:
Just desserts for what exactly? What've we done now :(
Honestly though, with the ridiculous amount of injuries we have, Kildare should win this at a canter if they play to their potential. A good few of the players that have come in have never played a senior game in Croke Park as far as I know. Hopefully at least Kevin Reilly will be back for the next game. Though looking at the winning teams in today's qualifiers, there's very few who I'd be confident in beating.

Kildare to win but I hope Meath at least make it competitive for some of the game.

Kildare to win by 5 points..Meath have way too many injuries plus poor form in the league has me dreading the game tomorrow.

hopefully Meath can give a good performance though.

Honest opinion, and by the way mods this is an opinion, not trolling.
I have yet to see in my lifetime a Cavan county footballer that would have been good enough to get on a top class county side. And the best two Kildare footballers I have seen so far played for Cork.

As for tomorrow, I wont be suprised if Kildare beat us handy, but at the same time, we could have beaten Kildare last year, Cian Ward had a shot blocked on the line that could have changed the outcome of that match, so I wont be suprised if we put ot up to them (Physically , Meath are not in the same league IMO, Football wise, Always)

    Meath Wexford Leinster final :)

Dermot McCabe? All star winner in 97. Jason O'Reilly? Used to be known as goal a game Jayo. James Reilly? Twice nominated for an All Star in his good years.

And if you reckon Doyle or Earley aren't good enough for a top class team then there really is no point even replying further to you.

Good attempt at some stirring though. I really ahouldn't be taking the bait.

I think Kildare will have way too much for a very weak Meath side. Competitive for the first 20 mins and just as it's looking like Meath can live with Kildare, bang game over.

Agree, can see Meath fighting hard as they always do but Kildare should power through.. Unless Meath play fantastic football and Kildare are not at there sharpest there's only gonna be one result

I thinks Kildare can go a long way this year, they are in my opinion one of the best teams in the country. That they seem to have gone about looking for the services of another forward, seems to imply that they feel they need another forward who can finish, he maybe the missing piece or he could be the player to de-stabilise the good setup McGeeney has built up over the last few years.
As for today, we might put it up to Kildare, we might even pull off a shock result, but all it does is extend the inevitable.

Kildare to win by 6.I would suspect Kildare to come out of the blocks early on and build up a lead including a goal within the first 20 minutes only for Meath to start coming back into it later on into the first half. The second half will start with Kildare building on their lead again before Meath tag on another few points to get the gap down before Kildare finish it off with a brace of points.

Kildare need a tough game to prepare them for Dublin who you would expect to beat Wexford.

Doubt it but then again with the pains they took to get him eligible, nothing surprises me.

You mean the pains he was forced to jump through.

And I retort... he wasn't forced, he chose to pursue it til the death.

The word going around here is that Seanie will not be involved at all today. Hope that its not true because it will only prolong the hype and it would be much better to get it over and done with.

    Anyway Kildare by 15.

He made a decision to go with Kildare, he was then forced to jump through hoops, what do you suggest he should have done?
No surprise to see this Lemlin chime in to have yet another go at anything Kildare.
Then again hes entitled to on an open forum i guess :P

50K + which seems a bit small. Kildare always a big crowd, Meath not as big as the old days but the Dubs seem to be down 20k on normal games.

It doesn't make much sense then that they went to the extreme of yesterday's tactic to not even give him a run.

Its cringeworthy from Whelan taking the moral high ground. We all remember how he liked to keep in code with the ethics of the GAA.

Since RTE can't be viewed outside of Ireland, I doubt it.

In fairness he hit the nail on the head Brolly. Johnston is a great man to score against Wicklow and Armagh but it'll be interesting to see how he does against top teams.
For a start the players he had around him while playing for Cavan wouldn't be fit to lace JD's, TOC's, EOF's, Lepers boots!

And When did Cavan ever play the so called big teams? Not very often I would imagine.
