    Hi,

Air bag light is on in the wifes 2007 1.4 Skoda Octavia.

I scanned it earlier with a VAG code scanner.

Came up with 01218 Side airbag igniter passenger side(N200)--sporadic 001 upper.

Does anyone have any experience of this or know what might fix it.

Links to other threads or anything appreciated.

    Thanks

The warning sound for not wearing seat belt sometimes comes on too even when belts are on--could be related

Check under the passangers seat for a damaged wire or a plug out. I had the same problem with a Passat.

I'll have a look. What fixed yours, was it a faulty connection, plug out or what.

    Thanks

It was a damaged plug from moving the seat backwards and forwards. It might be easier to remove the bolts holding the seat so you can get a better look. Oh yes you might be better off disconnecting the battery whilst fiddling with those plugs..

Finally got round to cutting out the plug and socket under the passenger seat and soldering the connections.

Reset the light and it stayed off, job sorted, thanks for your help!!!

The light and buzzer that come on to tell you to put on safety belt comes on intermittently and goes off again even though belt(s) are on. Can shriner shed any light on this fault. It appears to be a drivers side problem as it occurs even when only driver in car.

    Thanks again

The problem is most likely in the belt receiver on the drivers seat. Since most people don't need an audible reminder to put their seatbelt on we usually end up disabling the warning when this fault occurs. You can do this via instrument cluster coding using VCDS or else disconnecting the purple plug under the plastic panel in front of the seat will do the same job.
