Interesting to read the official guide for this stage:
...the rider in yellow, who is sure to be beaten by the specialists such as Martin, Cancellara or Wiggins.

    Well then, that's that. :D

Nico 11/8 to make top ten, he was beaten by Kloden by 1 minute in previous TT but he has 1 min 14 to spare on him, it's a bit longer tomorrow but I reckon he will do it. Pinot is also thereabouts but they should both have the measure of him. Im gettin stuck in anyway!!!!
    Go Nico

This will be a very interesting stage to watch with the top 10 standings. I hope Nico can continue his good TT's and get the top 10.

Thank god I don't have to work today, I now don"t have to furtively use the TDF website to follow the action!

    ABU NICO!

Yea and the fact that the seat post is so far back makes it look like it's bent forward because of the angle with the down tube!

I'm feeling so guilty watching the TT on one of the nicest days weather wise for a while.

Keep telling myself I'll go for a spin afterwards......

So Nico could take Pinot on GC only to get taken by Kloden.

    yep in a nutshell.

Only hope is Nico is pacing himself and has some in the tank to a) overtake Pinot and b) hold off Kloden. He has 1 minute 11 seconds over Kloden so 27 seconds advantage on the road, which is not much based on the 1st time check....so he'll need to have a savage last bit of the TT

hmmm i wonder did Kloden go off too hard?!!! He's lost nearly a minute between checks on the lead....come on Nico! (either that or Sanchez time is unreal!)

Great ride from Dan Martin - stormed the last 20k and lies in 24th now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭wonderfullife

nope disaster 1.29 behind at 2nd check, so he's 18 seconds behind Kloden on the road

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Peanut's a good way down on Nico, Kloden may over take him as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,153 ✭✭✭BQQ

    Damn!

Looks like Sanchez's ride was a great one.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭wonderfullife

sigh he only has 18 seconds in hand on Pinot. Far from getting top 10 he's gonna end in 12th. great effort this Tour all the same.....unless he can pull out something special/heroic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Wiggo and Froome are destroying the times, just like last time.

    12th

Lads would ye stop worrying! Nico and Dan are gonna have a wee chat tonight, ignore team orders and make a break on their own after 20km and take 20+ minutes out of the peleton.

Nico wins yellow and will let Dan win the stage. And THAT is how it will happen.

No it was worth it to at least attempt to win a stage, but obviously today its starting to show.

Don't think you can blame that.

LL Sanchez went with him and he rode an awesome TT.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,293 ✭✭✭✭Mint Sauce

Wiggo has destroyed the field at the 2nd check.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭wonderfullife

yep and LL Sanchez is 2 hours 3 mins behind Wiggo on GC....Nico was 11 mins behind.....therein lies the difference. Nico has had a great Tour just think the exertions in the mountains have finally got to him.

yeah, i think the cumulative efforts of the top guys on the tour are forgotten sometimes. look at Cav taking the sprint up from way out yesterday - he said himself he's done nothing this tour, just cruised around with Eisel...
