I register, it doesn't have a monthly fee, all the tolls become cheaper and the possibility of fines/penalties/etc. drops.

It can't be this easy. What am I missing?

    2.50 per M50 toll

It's 2 per M50 toll if you get a tag but there's a 1.23 monthly fee. Work out if you do, an average, more than 2 journeys per month and if so it's cheaper. Also there's the convenience of not needing cash when you get to other toll booths

Is there a discount for using a tag on any of the other tolls?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,472 ✭✭✭✭Our man in Havana

    Nope.

Yeah, just been reading some other threads and that's the conclusion that I came to. Doesn't make any sense, surely if using a tag on the M50 saves on admin, staffing, etc. for the M50, the same is true on the other routes.

I have a tag account I think its €2.20 per go with no monthly fee

I have a video acc and I would be a very light user of the service. I find it's handy, in that you drive through and they send you a statement every month but because it's linked to your credit card you don't have to do anything else.

One other thing is that you don't get hit with late fees either.

Sounds like tolltag.ie rather than eflow

Yeah i think its tolltag.ie. €2.20 is better than €2.50(video account).. and it can be used at the other tolls as well.

There is no monthly fee but you must keep a balance of about a tenner at all times (you can get that back if you return the tag).

I think they are the best option if you dont use the m50 toll too much. They sent me out a windscreen suction thingy for free when i lost mine, got it the next day.

John, Why does it cost 3 quid if I pay online or pay in a shop?

Surely it's cheaper for me to use your website.... well cheaper for you as you're getting direct payment. Why is it the same price if I was to go to a shop and pay them?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14 eFlow: Keith

    Hi Antares,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Good question. The reason it costs €3.00 to pay both online and in a shop is because our payment processing partner, Payzone, is responsible for providing our retail and online toll payment services. This price includes the toll charge, VAT and then admin fees associated with operating the service.

We can provide cheaper toll rates through our registered account options because the payments are processed directly through us, cutting out the need to pay admin fees.

You can find more information on both of our websites:
    www.payzone.ie
    www.eflow.ie

If you have any other questions, you can PM any eFlow representative or create a thread in our Talk To forum.

    Thanks and regards,
    Keith

    Hi Lightning,

We don't charge a €10.00 fee on either type of account, tag or video. The only non-toll fee we charge for is the €1.23 admin fee on tag accounts. We don't charge any admin fees on video accounts. The only costs associated with video accounts are for M50 toll journeys made.

If you want me to investigate this further for you, please send me a PM with your account details (account number or vehicle reg number on the account, the account holder's name, first line of the address on the account and either the phone number or email address associated with the account) and I can get this resolved for you.

Just to note that we can only discuss specific account details with the named account holder.

    Regards,
    Keith

I have had a video account with elfow for ages and no issues with it, just got my toll tag yesterday as I am doing a lot of motorway driving now so it made sense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,863 ✭✭✭✭inforfun

Took the video account after i had been just on time/just too late to pay on line a couple of times.
Use that m50 thing maybe 6 times a year so a tag would not made any sense.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,565 ✭✭✭✭Tallon

Been using a video account for a long time and used it rarely, now I use it all the time, so I upgraded to a tag account

So handy and I never worry about paying

Also, Customer service is top class with eFlow

Another low volume user here, just signed up for it this morning, didn't realise the video account didn't attract fees. Other operators take note.

Hi eflow, I'm always impressed about your online presence, many a company wouldn't bother their backside, but no one could accuse you of not engaging with the customer!:D
My question is, the video account is only for the M50, but it would be great if you could roll it out on all toll stations, it would save me a lot of hassle and maintenance fee for toll tags.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 92 ✭✭eFlow: Ciaran

    Hi Dr. Fuzzenstein,

Thanks for the positive feedback, its really appreciated.

I agree it would be great if the video account worked nationwide, however at the moment the only way to be covered for all tolls is to have a tag in the vehicle.

If you have any other feedback on possible improvements please feel free to post up :)

    All the Best,
    Ciaran.

I got a free tag when it first started and have had no issues since.
Would be nice however if they issued a monthly statement by e-mail.
At the moment I just see the top ups being deducted from my bank a/c and have to assume that they are getting it right.

    They do!

I get an email each month telling me about my payments. I can also view them online

    Hi Curly Judge,

We send out statements on a monthly basis either by post or by email. These statements can be viewed online once you set up a user ID and password.

If you don't remember your log on details, PM me with your ac number(or reg), plus confirm the name, address, telephone number and that you are the ac holder and I can send you on your log on details.

    Standing by,
    Ciaran.

On the subject of the website, while it's not bad from an informational point of view, design and usability leave an awful lot to be desired. It's long overdue an overhaul from a professional

What is it that you find Unusable?

I think it's fine, basic, but does exactly what it needs too

    Hi Dahamsta,

If you have any suggestions on how to improve the website please post them up as we are very interested in making it as user friendly as possible.

    All the Best,
    Ciaran.

As I said Ciaran, IMHO it needs a professional do-over as at this stage it's old-fashioned and poor on usability. I'm in the industry though, and don't want to sound like I'm pitching, so I'll leave it to others to comment as they see fit.

But all the other tolls have a barrier and the tag is required to lift it.

I know that. Maybe in the future there can be ANPR linked in with the video account. I'm sure it's not an insurmountable technical obstacle.

One thing people should be aware of with eflow is that they process their direct debits / card charges around the 3rd week of the month which can be very awkward. It's cost me a few quid in missed payments fees when I've been broke.

There's a thread about it on the Talk to: forum but for some stupid reason, they seem to have no interest in changing it to the start/end of the month like most other companies processing DD's.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 121 ✭✭eFlow: John

    Hi Sleepy et al,

eFlow takes payment from the 12th day of the month for Post Pay customers (Bill-Pay). Customers can check their a/c's online to find out exactly what date we would normally request payment.

We cannot process everyone's payment on the same date nor can the customer specify the date at present.

    Regards,

    John
