Asking this for a family member. Her car was written off in a accident. Did'nt look too bad at the time ,as she drove it home. She thought it would be repaired and thinks the offer from the Insurance company seems very low.She said she will not be able to get the same car(milage & year etc),based on the offer.
Does she have to take their offer or has she any choices/rights in this issue?.
People have been telling her she has no choice but to accept whatever they offer?.

Thanks in advance for any help advice?.

Check on-line, go kick a few tyres, talk to the insurance company.

They will only pay for 'special' items in the car if they were declared on the policy, e.g new paint job, re-upholstery, upgraded electronics, etc.

If the car has alloys and thread left on the tyres consider removIng them and selling off selerately yourself

when I wrote off my car in july, the insurance company offered me one sum, we were dealing with one person in the company the whole time,
we replied in email telephone and in letter format that we did not accept the offer.
we went back with letters from car dealerships advising how much our car was worth, and we also provided information of the same type cars on the tinternet.
the insurance company upped their offer then.

so, if they want to look for a different amount, they will need to provide examples and information.

Checking out carzone , similar cars are about €8900 but they are saying one is available from some guy for €6800.Which is what they are offering her.
She has always bought from main dealers/SIMI registered for peace of mind.
