    Hi
There's a girl at work that I like. She works for a different team and I sometimes deal with the team she is in and so herself. When I e-mail her team, it's purely work related. I never have had the opportunity to mail her directly and visa versa.

I've only spoken to her on two occasions.

I was in the canteen having lunch the other day and she walking in to get a cup of tea. I was sitting with the group I usually work with. She would have been fairly close to me. I was speaking to some of the guys at the table and I noticed that the volume of my voice increased. No idea why I did it. Felt a bit stupid!!!!

Anyway, I was in the canteen yesterday and she walked in with a group from her team. I was standing at the toaster by myself and she was with her group behind me. I noticed that she was speaking at a much much higher volume then the others. It was significantly higher!!!

Is this an indication that she likes me or am I over thinking this?

    Moved from tLL to PI

As per the forum charter, tLL is a discussion forum aimed at the female poster-ship of Boards rather than somewhere to poll women for their views/get "ladies perspectives"....this is the advice forum.

    You're overthinking.

You raised your voice because you were nervous around someone you fancy. Who knows why she raised her voice, maybe one of her colleagues is hard of hearing, maybe she is, maybe she was drunk, maybe it was the same reason as you, maybe she just has a really annoying loud voice, who knows.

I think you've added 1 + 1 and come up with 12. I'm afraid that there is no indication that she likes you. Why don't you try striking up a conversation with her next time you're in a group situation and taking it from there?

    Hey,

I wouldnt be as harsh as the other posters, I would say that any change in body language that you notice could be an indication of something. I reckon you subconsiously raised your voice when she was there as when you fancy someone you want them to notice you and for them to think you are interesting person with plenty to say, etc! Its similar to how you may find yourself becoming more animated when the object of your desire is around, women also preen and men are known to stand taller to look more masculine. Both sexes often try to catch eye contact too, all these things are cues that show we are seeking the attention and approval of someone. Look out for the position of the body shifting also, in a room with someone we like we usually angle our torso in their direction.

In saying that though of course you could be reading too much into it, you need to look at ALL the cues to try to get a full picture of whats going on! If her behaviour changes around you and only you then it could be an indication she feels something! but its up to you to figure out what that something is!

    Best of luck
