For some fast rolling mileage in all but the absolute worst of Irish weather for my racer... currently using schwalbe ultremo zx's which have been a disaster, which has really surprised me considering the great reviews that led me to purchase them in the first place... I used to have Michelen Pro3 Race series tires which were good but I can't seem to find them anywhere now. Anything else I should be looking at?

For me nothing comes close to the Continental GP4000S, I race on them, train on them, commute on them.

This will be the most popular choice.

Shop around for prices, I paid €28 for my last one (bike24.de I think)

Out of interest what kind of disaster? I've been running the zx's for the last year and found them solid in all Ireland has thrown at them so far

Yea so I was told by several people, but the fact is I've had more punctures with this pair of them than i've had with any other tire i've ever owned, and after only 2000odd km they're completly shredded with little nicks... I was determined to get at least 2k out of them before i replaced them, but 2k really isn't realistic a lifespan of a tire for a recreational cyclist... I realise it could be bad luck, but i paid about €86 for the pair of these and i've gotten better wear out of the €15 tires on my hack.

Nice one on the gp4000's recommendations, wiggle have a deal on them too

Best of luck with the new purchase. Do report back how they compare!

Try the Pro4's. I have a set and can't fault them.

Chain Reaction is still doing the deal for two and two tubes for 58.04

They also have the Pro3's is you'd prefer
