Would 54Mbps network speed be fast enough for this That is network speed under max rate in inSSIDer isn't it?

Yeah. Really the limiting factor is the upload speed of your home internet connection. The true speed of a 54Mbps network is closer to 25Mbps, but most home internet connections don't come close to this speed for upload.

It seems to indicate that the minimum connection speed required is 800kbps, so most DSL or cable connections will be fine for this.

will they? even with an upload of just under 0.40mbps as measured by speedtest. isn't that 400kbps? Thanks
