Not sue where to place this.

I've been considering learning about brick laying as the title says. I noticed it's up on fas too.

But I've no idea how I'd get my foot in the door. I was thinking of maybe contacting brick layers.. and such to see if they're willing to take me on.
Are there sites or places I could go to find out about local brick layers?

Thing is, what are the jobs like for that. (I know everything is down atm..but still just asking in general..and if an apprenticeship is likely?)

I'm in my early 20's and I hate office work (my skills are in IT..and I want to get the hell out :P..)

I'm quite physical and love physical work...
Oh..would be a female hinder me in anyway? ..(I know I'd likely be joked at and stuff.. but that's alright..so long as I still got the apprenticeship/work..)
