Computer magnet won't fit

I got a basic wired computer as a gift but can't install it on my bike. Basically the magnet is too big (or too small). Its about 12mm in height when you put it standing on its end. When I put it on the closest side spokes to the sensor it hits it. When I put it on the furthest spokes it's too far away. So my question is, would any magnet work? If so, would anyone have a smaller one lying around? Or are they something you can buy easy enough in a lbs

only a rare earth magnet will work, I got some magnets in a hobby shop but they were no good, ok for notes on a fridge but not for bike computer.

the cheapest place to get rare earth magnets would be dealextreme

just incase you didnt realise, you can put the magnet anywhere on the spoke, it doesnt need to be close to the rim, it will travel the same amount of revolutions no matter where it is on the wheel

Move the magnet further along the spoke towards the rim/tyre where there will be a greater gap between the spokes and the fork.

...or rotate the sensor outwards a little

Thanks folks. Think I have it. I shaved a little of the plastic from the back of the sensor and rotated it more towards the front if the fork. Seems to have given it just enough clearance now
