Installing gauge...illumination wire

    im installing a vacuum and it has 2 wires. the black one is ground , the white one is illumination. i was wondering what kind of wire i can splice into for illumination. parking light switch would be idea but not sure which colour it is

    anyone have an idea the cars a 97 honda integra dc2 ?

    It'll be obvious when you look behind the cig lighter. Earth would be screwed onto the lighter surround, 12v for the lighter is bolted onto the centre of the lighter at the end and the illumination will be on the side and attached to a bulb.

    Nice one colm , il check in the morning , so the gauge will just light up when i turn my lights on correct ?

    If you don't balls it up :)

    Vacuum gauges are hilarious. Had them in 2 of my FTOs. Serve no purpose other than looking like they do something important.

    Eh no. Unless the integra has some weird setup where the cig lighter illumination comes on with the key as opposed to with the lights as per pretty much every car I've ever seen.

    yeah im pretty sure the cig illuminates up when i switch the parking/dim switches on :) colm knows his stuff :P

    I'd imagine that at the cig lighter the illumination wire will be much thinner than the +12VDC and -12VDC(GND) wires.
