Was gonna send this mail a few days ago but saw Samsons mail about organising something and left it to see what would emerge. Anyway I'll post it and see what you guys think:

Havok mentioned an idea about having a monthly theme (the eg. he gave was "reflections") in which people could submit their work to the board. A couple of people also expressed an interest in having some discussions of a more philosophical nature.

So wouldn't it be good if we combined these two ideas and had a corresponding discussion loosely based on the theme of the month?

What do you guys think? Is there enough interest in this ? Now that it's the start of May, perhaps it would be a good time to get this thing rolling? If you are in agreement I suggest one of the mods come up with a brief explanation of what this whole thing is about plus a few guidelines about posting work to the "monthly theme" thread. Something about copyright being retained by the original poster should probably be mentioned as well. Assuming this were to take off I think it would make more sense to just have one sticky thread that linked to each monthly theme thread rather than make each monthly theme a sticky. We could have the arty discussion either intermingled in the same thread or create a separate one?

I'm willing to lend a hand but I think one of the newly appointed mods should take a lead with this if they are serious about injecting new blood into the forum.

Furthermore I suggest that the theme of "Reflections" is as good a theme as any to start with and to put my money where my mouth is I've recently posted a topic here:

Its wont be a Photo only compitition. All visual forms will be accepted.
The mod's are currently working on a format.

all visual forms accepted sounds cool to me, afterall the forum is Art/Anim/Photo

I'm not sure how you can check originality though as someone could copy a pic off the web and post as their own.

Yeah, that'll be nearly impossible to check. If we do suspect a front running entery we could just ask for the master files (this'll be pratically impossible with photographic pieces tho)

There are no big prizes anyway, its just abit of fun.
