Macro Cycling

    Hey all,

Was just reading about Macro Cycling and chatted to a few lads about it...

What I mean is the following...

    Example:
    Monday - Friday
    High Fat (55%)
    Medium Protein (35%)
    Very Low Carbs (10%)

    Saturday - Sunday
    Medium Fat (35%)
    Low Protein (15%)
    Very High Carbs (50%)

I've read that this type of cycling is "supposed" to boost test levels and help keep bodyfat in check(of course as long as your not overeating)

Now I was thinking of just working off a zone diet would be just as good, for example

    Protein 30%(Minimum)
    Fat 30%(Minimum)
    Carbs 30%-40% (the rest)

    Thoughts?

Personally I wouldn't say it has much effect on testosterone unless you're eating a low fat diet already.

Why cycle by percentages? I find it much easier going by grams of each macro per day. Especially for protein and hitting the 1g/lb mark.

Nothing keeps body fat levels in check except calories . Nothing boosts test levels in terms of macro breakdown.

im 170lbs i take in 2800 cals everyday i dont cycle everyone is different i keep my fat to about 65 to 70 grams a day 1.25 grams protein per lb of bodyweight and the rest in carbs. i find it works best for me im lean and dropping fat and keeping a lot of muscle.if i up my fats too high i feel flat and soft..best thing is to trial and error and see how you get on and look in the mirror and use the scales to check your weight

A cyclical ketogenic diet - said to raise testosterone and make you into a beast while burning fat and gaining huge muscle. While there are links to fat and testosterone production unless you were consuming next to no fat you wont notice any difference. You'll still put fat on in keto if you eat too much as you have said. The main advantage to this diet is that its far harder to snack on sh1te as none of it is allowed.

Keto adapation can take 2-3 weeks.

By cycling are you not losing the benefits i.e. you don't adapt to run on ketones?

Turning into a beast without carbs? Ye good luck with that. Carbs are pretty high up there for muscle growth and working out.

Ah ok thought you were talking pure keto. Anyway I don't think OP is going keto on that. Even if cutting at 2000 calories that's 50g carbs per day during the week.

I agree, but take a nosy at CKD and the claimed benefits are the same.

There are a few schools of though on this and in some circles the call it toggling.

I've seen people get good results in terms body composition using CPWO and FPWO after training sessions. Like all these things it's best to do the research, make a plan, try it out and see does it work for you.
