    Hey y'all - I got a good one:
    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-27399841

A prominent member of UKIP's youth wing has resigned from the party, accusing it of descending into a "form of racist populism"

Let me get this straight. She is British of Asian extraction*, and she had to join UKIP to find out that they are allegedly racist and populist.

Wow. I wonder how she'll manage at her exams...

    * from what I can tell

EDIT: 'Last week, UKIP leader Nigel Farage said the party was "not racist" '
I stand corrected. Apparently they're not racist.

What's with all the BNP / UKIP threads lately?

We have enough racists and bigots in our own government!

There's probably one more rugby bashing thread left before it changes to GAA bashing season in AH!

Yeah well - maybe not the brightest but you pay peanuts you get monkeys. But that's the UK for you

In Ireland we pay top dollar for our politicians, which ensures that eh....

    Look! A squirrel

In fairness now there's nothing in "United Kingdom Independence Party" that indicates that it might be about racism, Ted. Something similar happened to me years ago when I got talked into joining the "Pioneers". Sure I was half-way across furkan Oklahoma in a covered wagon before it dawned on me that it was about booze.

I'd say there's quite a few people that get involved with UKIP at a young age without really realising that they may be racist. People have in fact been kicked out of the party for publicly voicing their bigotry, so you could almost forgive folk for assuming that perhaps the party isn't as xenophobic etc as the media makes out.

They are of course, but there's plenty of gullible voters that would take their word that they aren't. I mean they're mainly anti-EU.. and there are millions of people in the UK that are too.. and not to many options for them when it comes to choosing a party.

I get your point, sometimes you get fooled into voting for people etc.

But to actually JOIN the flippin' party and THEN discover that? Seriously? How did she pick the party, did she just like the name or wha? The flyer had pretty colours?
