No talk show so i am assuming? Probably a good thing anyway.

Will Tubridy take Mooney's slot in competition with Moncrieff?

So 2FM are getting rid of Tubridy and handing him off to RTE1?

    Regards...jmcc

I remember years ago he used to do The Sunday Show on RTE 1 and wasn't too bad, or is my memory gone hazey?

Both Tubridy and Colm Hayes have no place on 2fm's daytime if it's aiming at a younger demographic.

If 2FM want to pull in more listeners from 9-11 that slot needs to become music oriented in my opinion, down this part of the world it's talk shows galore from 9-11 on Kerry, 96FM and RedFM, if 2fm had music on it would provide variety.

Can't see Chris and Ciara moving to daytime because I don't believe their show would work as well during the daytime. Nighttime slot is ideal for them.

Right. So this is a 'what OP would do if he/she was in charge at RTE' thread, not one based on information about what is actually going to happen.
    Is that correct?

I hope this is true. I liked his old Radio 1 show. When he's in his comfort zone, Tubridy is very good. When he's trying to be Gerry Ryan, he's utterly dreadful. I've only listened to his current show a couple of times - it's pretty cringe-worthy. It's the radio equivalent of a teenage boy fumbling with a bra-strap.

I'd love to see him replacing Derek Mooney, and being given the same levels of freedom to be self-indulgent (i.e. promote stuff that isn't Mrs Brown's Boys, Jedward, Eurovision and Meeeeerdy Burrrrrrden). It's unfortunate that the likes of Derek Mooney and Joe Duffy are allowed to use their shows to publicise their own (hideously low-brow) interests and obsessions.

    Possibly not.

One-post wonders have given us the Today FM changes as well as lot of the 2FM ones since the start of the year; can't remember something entirely inaccurate - the Lottie Ryan to do Electric Disco one seems to have *been* true before the outrage.

Tubridy should be shown the door... he's the Wayne Rooney of RTE... we're continuously told how "great" he is, he's paid a fortune, and he doesnt perform...

Chris and Ciara did lunchtimes on the old i102104 at one stage if I remember correctly. Could well see them moving to daytime and Dan Hegarty/some others off 2XM getting the 10-1am slot. Something a la BBC Radio 1. Be interesting if this happens as Chris & Ciara move may affect figures for Dermot and Dave on Today FM.

Would Tubs get his old 9am slot back? Can't see them getting rid of Mooney tbh.

I hope to god Colm Hayes goes too. Absolutely terrible show.

Nobody said colm hayes is going.

Therein lies the problem. It doesn't really matter what they do mid-morning when Breakfast and Drive are such a disaster.

Not exactly, after Mary "who works on the show" McGill took over iTalk on i102-104 Chris moved to i105-107 to replace Abie Philman Bowman on 'The Third i' which was a mid afternoon talk show rather then lunchtime. Ciara came in later I think, then of course when the station amalgamated to form iRadio Chris and Ciara moved back to the old iTalk slot.
It used to lead into 'iDrive with Nadia and Phil'

    This too shall pass.
