I have experience with Autoglass in Galway, as they changed me 4 different windscreens in 4 different cars over last 5 years.
I can't blame them for anything - all was done professionally and properly to my knowledge.

Since I know that Autoglass were using(abusing) the internship scheme I wouldn't use them.
Surely you can get an independent windscreen fitter closer to home to replace your windscreen and get re-imbursed by the insurance company after.

If his insurance company have an agreement with the specific windscreen fitters who gives them a discounted rate, they may not cover the entire cost of a replacement windscreen by a different fitter.

I think you'll find an independent fitter is able to source and replace glass cheaper than autoglass bill the insurance company but your word of warning should be noted. I have some knowledge of the industry.

They will pay max 225€ .To be honest I dont have time to find independent fitter.

All well and good, but I'd go with whoever has most good reviews. I have 2 out of 2 cars with windscreens replaced by actual donkeys - I think any animal with opposable thumbs would have made a better job of it, to call them apes would be a discredit to apes.

In that case go for the Irish company; mr windscreen.
don't get the job done on a monday morning when they are out the door with work
make sure the tint on the glass is right; you'll have to put up with the colour of tint they give you for the rest of the life of the vehicle (unless you are cinio in which case it is an annual event)

where are you going to get good reviews when 2 suppliers are the only show in town.
knowing they are the only show in town doesn't incentivise them to do good work which is why autoglass were happy to advertise for jobbridge staff last year.

Also if your car has auto wipers, make sure they work afterwards. The roofs on Civics without panoramic sunroof can rust from the weather strip rubbing against the paint. For that reason I'd be making sure its a proper outfit fitting it.

No I dont have auto wipers and just normal sunroof.I might go to mr.Windscreen as the location is more convenient and like previous lads saying I dont want get unprofessional job done.

That weather strip seams to be made of harder plastic on many aftermarket windscreens which wears the paint away when usually a genuine one wouldn't.

Sometimes too the fitter can damage the paint around the screen if they rush the job.

Unlikely to have been galway autoglass, but one of them is an autoglass job judging by the disc holder on it now.

The other job was worse, no calling card to attribute blame there - either they had no disc holders or they were actually ashamed of the hames they made of it.

I used Mr Windscreen, as I apparently had no choice with Liberty. When I rang autoglass, they passed me onto MrW because my policy had been taken out at a certain time of the year, or some ****e. MrW did a good job, for the most part, but they neglected to refit the rubber strip at the bottom of the windscreen and threw it out with the rest of the rubbish. I didn't realise until the next day and I had to get a replacement strip myself (thankfully for free, from someone I knew).

i've used autoglass 3 times on a 131 auris the windscreens are made of clingfilm!!!

Twice they called to my house in south galway and once in the depot.

Everytime the job was perfect so they may call to you if you ask.

They even hoovered it in the depot for me.

I've had no problems whatsoever would gladly recommend

I do a fair bit of mileage but they nearly all happened on motorways!

except the first time I was getting something from the footwell passenger side and someone called me swung around too fast and hit the rear view mirror and there was a dirt big crack down the windscreen (Bionic elbow!!!)

Have another stone chip in the last one I got need to get that sorted before it cracks.

Never had a windscreen replaced before this auris and ive averages 60-70k a year for the last 5 years!!!

Was way worse imo bout 8 years ago when there was so much building going on. Maybe it was just the roads I was on at the time but there seemed to be a lot more stones on the road then.

Although the worst damage I had was due to restless natives in limerick chucking stones. Godhelpus, they have to burn off their energy somehow I suppose.
