Changing Course

    Recently dropped out of my course due to failing one exam, and am now taking the year out to work and change courses as I can avoid fees in a new course as a mature student, was wondering if any of ye know if this failed exam would prevent me from changing course? As I've been hearing that it would from a few people and there's no clear guidance to be found it seems? Any information would be greatly appreciated to put my mind to rest

    Make sure you have officially dropped out.
    When you start a new course in future, you'll be liable for semester one fees.

    Just to clarify, there are no extra free fees criteria for simply being a mature student. You'll have to pay full fees for any time you've previously been on your last course.
    So if your new course is €5k tuition per year and you've already completed 2 years in your last course, you'll be liable to pay €5k per year for the first two years of your new course.

    You have to be five years out of college to avail of free fees whether going back as a mature student or not. You will have to pay your tuition fees for every year you've previously completed.
