Quiet place for young family's first holiday?

We want to go abroad in September with our 3 year old. This will be our first holiday with her. We have a budget of around â‚¬900 and we're looking at the Canaries but Spain or Portugal is also good. We would like somewhere relatively quiet. Has anyone any recommendations?

Canaries is great. All you would want and great value. has gone up a bit I last couple of years. Though I reckon a 3 year old on a plane and all that goes with it is no holiday for anyone!

Small little town outside of Albufeira in Portugal called Olhos de Agua is well worth a look. Bit of work involved but if you can get cheap flights you should be able to get a nice apartment near the beach within that budget.

After a very quick look there's some good value accommodation out there now if you're prepared to book it early....this place is about 60-70 euro a night for an apartment with a balcony
