Just purchased running shoes from a eu online shop in Switzerland for €132, looked perfectly ligit. I was a bit concerned when it looked for credit card payment and not PayPal.I was really looking for these runners .
Once payment was made I checked my email and discovered a payment was made to fristpay. com, and it said ir would appear as 'IOOP DAHU CAKK' on my credit card.
I know I've be scammed. O2 money account has had €140 sent as payment. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO?????

Firstly, Switzerland isn't in the EU. ;) So, you would be liable for import duty on your purchase.

If there is a problem, you should be able to do a chargeback on your credit card. They may require you to wait a certain number of days for delivery though.

I know I was stupid. .just was looking really hard for these runners due to leg problem.
For anyone else the site was www.kotini.eu ..too good to be true.
How does charge back work? Does it matter that it was with an O2 money card?
    Thanks.

Think the o2 card is a debit card so no comeback there?

Can they make other charges to the card as they possibly have card number /expiry/ccv?
I have only €50 left in there.

With a consumer help address listed as juney.service@hotmail.com its pretty suspect.

I just had a look at the site and it looks ok. I would not pay by credit card to anyone online unless I was personally aware of exactly who they are. But you used a money card so that should help.

You will have to wait and see what happens. Was there some sort of CC charge to account for the missing €8? Why are you so sure you have been scammed?

In order to check that website I had to remove the .kwww from the url you provided, and presumably fristpay should have been firstpay. Hopefully you managed to put in your address and information more accurately!

I don't understand how you're so sure you've been scammed? Am I missing something obvious? If so would you mind explaining as I might learn something !

Just googled fristpay and indeed they are very suspect. Check them out yourself. It does not appear that there is any fraud cover on the 02 money card, so you can only wait and see what happens. Contact 02 and see if you can cancel, but its a long shot.

Use the remaining 50 on your card, and don't top it up. It may be an expensive lesson in doing business on line. Just don't deal with businesses that do not use Paypal.

Hope it works out for you.

You can google Paypal scam , and you will get startling results too.

I don't see anything at this stage to worry about .

OP should have O2 money card protection , and be able to cancel the contract within 14 days .

OP should also contact the sellers and ask for shipping details / tracking number

What legitimate website has a mixture of languages?
    No address or telephone number?
    No logo just an URL?
Mention of an unrelated website in the small print?

Can't believe I've been so foolish. A hard lesson learned. I never thought I'd get caught so easy.

Well I got my Brooks running shoes today!! The worst copied Asics runners I've ever seen.
Even the tongue of one of the shoes were stitched to the side of the shoe. !!
    About 2 sizes too small.
This is unbelievable !! How can they get away with this?
I've raised the issue with o2 money who have been excellent service, and are opening a Visa dispute. We'll see how it goes.

Yeah. .that's one of each, but they might as well be hats.
I've emailed back for a return address. .The ball is in their park now on what may happen next.
Why even bother wrap up that junk and send it by courier? ?

Theres obviously some train of thought that you're getting something for your money, maybe it makes them feel better! Hope you get some justice. Rotten to have that happen.

I just said I'd say, the same thing happened to me with fristpay. As might have been the case with the OP, I don't recall seeing any mention of fristpay when making the actual payment. Presumably these illegitimate websites have a deal with fristpay. I paid with card and am not sure if the money has gone through yet. It was via clothing website churchillphoto.co.uk.

I was aware beforehand that because the site wasn't a well known one, that it might mean they'd likely be fraudulent. I made a lazy attempt to verify this with google and didn't hear anything bad. And when the scam advisor website gave a good rating, it was all I wanted to hear.

    scamadviser.com

But as shown with the scam advisor, this website does seem to have a real address, etc. Since churchillphoto.co.uk is British website, it might be possible to report them some how.

    Strange stuff

Seeing that this was over a year ago I think things are settled one way or the other by this stage.

Well nothing came of it. I contacted O2 raised the complaint and had it refered to Visa, with the promise of a 6 week answer. Contacted 02 up to 2 months after with no results. Waste of my time. These guys a making some money from a scam where finance houses protect them!

No, it's the ignorance of people providing them with their financial details what protects them.
