    Hi,

I have been having issue with the LCD pixelating on my odometer for the last few months, not sure if it is the cold (as it seems to happen the odd time). But wondering if anybody knows an easy fix for it. I am planing to sell my car by the end of the year, so don't want to spend too much on it. Plus I have my NCT coming up soon will this need to be fixed. Any thoughts ?

    Attached is the pic

Odometer isn't part of the NCT, only the speedometer needs to work

I'm sure they need to be able to read the mileage.

What kind of car is it. It'd not easy changing out the lcd display. You would need to be soldering and all. Maybe changing out the clocks is an option, depending on what you drive. Most cars nowadays store the mileage in the ecu. Older ones stored them in the clocks. There are places that will fix this type of thing, but you'll have to google it. "Fix lcd dash display ireland" for example might work.

Maybe not, but I'm certain that it would use identical underlying electronics to the likes of a Polo

LCD panels are sensitive to the cold. Even marginally below room temperature and they can get a little funky. I'd wait til the weather improves and see do you still have issues. Does it still do it all day? Or only in the morning when cold?

It seems to only happen the odd time and have only been seeing it since this winter. Like this morning it was totally fine. So I might just wait till summer and see how it goes. Just worried about NCT 😟
