    Person 2: "OMFG, TRIGGERED!!!"

You know it's bad when she herself is quoted perfectly and she still sounds like an absolute tit.

Men and women have tits so I guess it's probably ok to call her that.

On a more serious note and excuse my ignorance, I have led a sheltered life but is this a new phenomenon.
I'm quite young, mid 30s but when I grew up you were straight, gay or bi with the odd transvestite(that you would only see doing comedy sketches on tv), maybe that was just the group I grew up with (straight, gay and bi)
Were all of these people that identified as something other than the above going around being non binary or non conformist or did they see themselves as gay/straight/bi.

you must have a degree in wimmins studies.

No but I may as well have, having been exposed to all the overpriced indoctrination of undergraduate school.

Was it a bit silly to show the message? Maybe, but it's understandable that someone who had been raped would have a bad reaction to that song, especially if their (that wasn't hard) rapist had used the exact phrase from the song.
I think by showing the DJ the note they just wanted to make a point about a pretty vile yet catchy song, to make people aware of how awful it is and maybe consider that when they think about playing it in public (maybe not too surprising if they're a recent graduate fresh enough from the campus environment).

Why they might expect the DJ to use the desired pronouns is beyond me, but equally beyond me is anyone defending the DJ's response.
Someone tells you the song has upset them as it reminds them strongly of a rape they've suffered and you say “**** off you silly bitch” rather than "sorry, I didn't know it would affect someone, I just play it as a catchy song??"
    Grade A a**hole.

Would they have a bad reaction because of a) the lyrics, in which case just about any song is potentially off limits and we end up with an approach to free speech compatible to the Taliban, or b) because of all the ruckus and assorted bollocks raised about the song by certain groups pushing an agenda?

What a brilliant counterpoint. I'm sold, you've converted me. Let's go stomp some queers!

So because I think having 20 different names for gender neutral or transgender is a load of bull I'm a homophobe now?

If people want to define themselves not on their birth gender they're more than welcome, more power to them and if it were my kid they'd be fully supported, but waffling on about non-binary and having a load of different names for it sounds like a load of bollock hipster "you don't understand what it's like" talk if you ask me.

Half the problem with today's generation, "How dare you define me as male or female based on my genitals! I cannot be defined, but I use these 20 buzz words instead!"

There was a thread not so long ago asking exactly what "SJW" means. The answer is people like these and anyone who defends, or worse, enables them.

    Impressive consistency there.

Complete consistency in fact. Since it's impossible for a living person to be Napoleon Bonaparte as he is dead, the fact of Bonaparte's death is sufficient proof that anyone claiming to be him is at the very least lying or delusional.

Threads about trigger warnings should really have their own trigger warning.

So where is your credible evidence for non-binary or are you ignoring my post because you know you can't find any?

I was exagerrating for effect, I didn't call you anything. Incidentally the idea is not to have "20 different names for gender neutral or transgender" but to identify that sexuality is a spectrum and that people exist who are on different points in that spectrum and deserve to have their existence recognised.

I take a live and let live approach, and I suspect I am terribly ignorant of gender thoery, but couldn't all this be solved if we just stopped expecting certain norms of genders?

If you look like you probably have female sex characteristics, I'm going to use female pronouns. That doesn't mean I expect you to wear a dress, or be attracted to me, or perform any 'traditional' female roles whatever. It is solely a reference to your sex characteristics, and nothing else.

There's something mildly sexist about "identifying" as female or male beyond wanting to change your anatomical sex characteristics, the latter of which is obviously fine.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I find the concept of psychological gender troubling. I'm a straight man but I have a feminine side, sometimes just for devilment, sometimes because bubble baths are comfortable dammit.

I find it is (admirably well-read) gender theorists who are most insistent on putting happy, well-adjusted people like me into strictly-ordered boxes.

    "That wasn't hard" ?

You're missing the point: how the fcuk would the staff know what Georgia wanted to be identified as?? It's not about it being easy or difficult. It's about not having psychic abilities.
I think by showing the DJ the note they just wanted to make a point about a pretty vile yet catchy song, to make people aware of how awful it is and maybe consider that when they think about playing it in public (maybe not too surprising if they're a recent graduate fresh enough from the campus environment).

lol. She just wanted to make a point?? In the middle of a DJ's set?? He's working ffs!! Write a letter c/o of the club the next day. You don't start whinging to DJs about how songs remind you of being raped. What absolute entitled nonsense.
Why they might expect the DJ to use the desired pronouns is beyond me, but equally beyond me is anyone defending the DJ's response.

The DJ's response was spot on. They (both of them, not just Georgia - yeah, this is real "easy") deserved to be told to fcuk off.
Someone tells you the song has upset them as it reminds them strongly of a rape they've suffered and you say “**** off you silly bitch” rather than "sorry, I didn't know it would affect someone, I just play it as a catchy song??" Grade A a**hole.

Can you read? They said: "I don’t want to hear this s***" to the DJ. They (Georgia, not both of them) were obnoxious and rude.

Also, Georgia is professional victim. Here's one of her recent tweets were she was causing trouble at another club:

    https://twitter.com/GeorgiaG92/status/595226148675649536

Oh, and they told her to fcuk off as well.

You claimed it as a delusion first, where's your own evidence?

It is not a simple case of there is proof or there is none. It's a non binary argument.

You're talking to the wrong person. I didn't. I called it ridiculous. It is ridiculous.

I don't need evidence to prove this.

    Now.. Where's yours?

I'll be honest I'm not that up to date on all these pronouns, was never very good at grammar but if you are not told directly, how do you know what pronoun to use when addressing someone.

    Ask.

i always thought sexuality was a spectrum from straight to gay. not sure what transgender has to do with it.

Georgia added: “Or at least it should be announced before it’s played from now on, so at least people can leave.”

Is she having a laugh. I'm sure there are people out there traumatised by nursery rhymes, should we ban them as well. Silly individual.

If it's not obvious when meeting, the phrase "what's your pronoun preference?" works.

She wants a song banned cause she effectively doesn't like it?
