Just picked up a black pair model no 505795
In Currys Liffey valley reduced from
    159 to 59.97
There was an additional 20% off at the till taking an extra 12 euro off
Think they are an older model but got good reviews

A couple of other colours too
    (Was on the phone earlier
    edited picture and receipt)
    Definitely got them at €48

That's a cracking price. I have the over ears but the on ear are outstanding value at that price. Nice find.

As the price ends in a 7 it's being discontinued in Currys so I'd say that's nationwide.

I couldn't find them on their websote though, so it may just be any store that has stock. I'll check the big store in Limerick later to see what they have.

Wonder if they have any over-ear versions, I have a pair of on-ear 205's and they start hurting me after about 20 mins listening :(

They are on the website but not at a reduced price.

No idea! The chap scanning them said he thought there was an extra 20%off qualifying items. He scanned a barcode on a sheet at the till and it took 20%off.He did say it was starting today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,631 ✭✭✭marcbrophy

Not the black ones that the OP got though, just pink OR green! Bleugh :pac:

Plus, not the discounted price either!

Sorry, didn't notice you had wrote the price was different :)

None to be had in Limerick apparently sold them off 2 days ago, nice bloke checked the computer for me and the only place that seemed to have decent supply was dixons at T2, so if anyone is going on any flights and fancys doing a girl a favour I'd be a willing recipient ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 378 ✭✭bob2oo7

I just rang Dixons in T1... they are 69.99 for the Ivory ones... no 20% off at the till

I picked up a pair in Airside last night, they had about 10 more sets. Just in the Ivory colour though. Also the girl at the till scanned them and said there was no 20% off. I showed her this thread though with the photos and she then knocked off the 20% for me.
Not sure if ill keep them. Anyone use them yet? What is the noise leakage like?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭fret_wimp2

even at 69 quid they are a bargain.

Regarding questions on leakage, they are definately not isolation headphones, you will hear noises around you, but they are not designed to be isolation. if you want isolation you need to go with an in ear type.

The quality of these is very good though and they are very very comfortable to wear.

If only i lived near a currys :-(

Im not concerned about isolation, its more my music leaking out that id be worried about. Id like to keep my questionable musical taste to myself :D

None left in Carrickmines last night anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 63 ✭✭JoeBaz

I was in Carrickmines last night and the only pair (Blue) they had were the display model.
I asked if they had any more and they didnt'.
The display model weren't looking too great, the cable was looking a little frayed and little scratch or two on cups.
I asked if they could take a little more off the price, but no joy.

Either the staff member himself snapped them up or someone bit the bullet and bought the display pair.

    Great Spot OP.

They wouldn't sell me the display in limerick, said they were demo only :( superflyninga I'd gladly take them off your hands and cover postage if you decide to get rid...

Got a pair in Liffey Valley at lunchtime today Friday - only 2 sets left both blue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 63 ✭✭JoeBaz

    Which Liffey Valley branch?
There's one in the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre and a separate Currys / PC World in the Liffey Valley Retail Park.

    Cheers OP!

Also, they come with two cables. One with microphone and controls and one without.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,997 ✭✭✭ablelocks

Thanks, think there were 2 left after I got a pair, that was about 11:30 this morning.

She originally scanned them at €56 or €59, I had to point out the yellow sticker with the cheaper price on there.

Ooh I would love to nab myself a pair of these! I just lost my sennheiser in ear phones and am using stock samsung ones for on the go... the lack of bass is simply not on!

So can anybody confirm stock in any place for these? I have absolutely nothing to do on wednesday so I could travel anywhere. Thanks!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,859 ✭✭✭superflyninja

I have Sennheiser in ear CX300II and I find the bass heavier in those than the Momentums. But the sound on the momentums is much clearer I think.

On ear versus over ear. Excuse my ignorance, but on ear pushes against your ear, and over ear, "cups" them, per se?
    Am I right?

Pretty much. Overear are a bigger cup, so yeah, they go over your ear. On-ear are about the size of your ear and sit on them.

I got these for a "bargain" €104 back in February. At €60 you really cant go wrong (unless you wear glasses and experience pain while wearing glasses and headphones).

Thanks, the image suggests they go over-ear, which would be perfect. If they actually sit on the ear though, they'd irritate me after 20 minutes. :( Still a good bargain though, just not for me.

^^ Creative Aurvana Live is a very good around your ear headphone with very very good sound. I'm happy to wear them for long periods of time as their comfy and lightweight.

I got a pair yesterday morning in Dixon's at the aipport T2 for €63. They were €69 but he took another 10% off for me. From what I could see there were at least 3 left (all ivory) . He said that staff had been buying them too and that the high street shops had been ringing him looking for his stock.

Ive the ivory ones these last 6 months. Wear them every day on my commute in and out, and pretty regularly in the office. Not a single scuff or mark on them. Quality is still perfect. No sign of any splits in the wiring or anything. Leather padding looks as good as new too.

    Enjoy.

There are 2 pairs of these left in PCs world in Waterford.

I left Black pair underneath the beats headphones that are between the clearance cages at the till.

I left a blue pair behind the iwantit docks on the bottom clearance shelf that is toward the right at the back wall opposite the entrance. These are marked 99 euro but should scan at the sale price too
