Seems a bit odd the lack of thread interest? Not everyday at any level we've a very real chance of a worlds gold.

Fiver on Dunbar, although I would imagine Mullen will take this one, seems in very good form!

I don't think either will go as well as expected.

The Italians are flying. The young fella Ganna from Lampre won a big TT last week beating some heavy hitters including some of those who've beaten Mullen and Wurtz, he took Lammertink for over a minute which was a shock. Martinelli was behind Ganna as well that same day.

Reckon Mullen will get a medal but I expect it all to be seriously tight for the top 5 or 6. Dunbar will be outside Top 15 I'd say

Dunbar 13th at first check. Not great but it's not a strong discipline of his.

The incline for the finish line looks like the worst form of punishment after a hard slog around the route!
One or two racers not able to stand up after finishing. Fantastic performances.

Starting to rain now for Mullen :(

Wind & rain look like maybe becoming a factor. I think aesthetically the course leaves a lot to be desired, wide open roads, very few spectators . . .

11th. Some ride by Kamna to get third, he would have beaten Mullen to gold anyway. The new Tony Martin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,256 ✭✭✭MPFGLB

That Kamna looks like the one to watch in the future

Surprised Richmond didn't change the name of the bridge.

Some rider that Kamna. He smashed the Junior TT last year (where Michael O'Loughlin rode brilliantly - fingers crossed for him this week as he's still a junior). Kamna's only 19 and had the worst of the conditions. He really is a serious talent.

Mullen lost a lot of time early but improved as it went on. He looked as nervous as a kitten on the early corners.

I've raced a lot of downtown US crits that had corners like that. The pavement is slick enough, but the white stripes are a disaster when wet. You could tell he knew from the 1st corner that the medal was gone. What a shame.

Though since Kamna in identical conditions did medal, it's not that it was entirely down to circumstances.
