if a 24 years old female has an Implanon inserted five days before the first day of her next mesntrual cycle is due, what is the liklihood of the Implanon affecting this particular cycle?

It would probably have an effect quite quickly. A lot of women notice spotting for a while after starting these contraceptives although for most women, it wears off after a while.

As a human body adjusts to artificial control of hormonal cycles, side effects are noted (as above) although these wear off.

I had mine put in in Feb,I am still waiting for my cycle to settle down, bled for 6 months straight and am just now starting to get a break for 1/2 weeks then cycle for 2-3 weeks. I'm really considering having it removed, doctors keep say it could take from 6 months to a year before it settles.

The only reason they want you to be on your period is so they can rule out the possibility of pregnancy!!Well thats what my doctor said anyways!!

Hi, sorry, I'm 18 and am finding it very hard to find out the cost of the implant. I have a medical card, is it covered under that?

You can get in on your medical card. Not all GP practices offer the service of inserting the implant but if yours doesn't they will refer to to a doctor who will do it for you on your medical card and the only charge will be the €2.50 prescription levy.
