Would a laundrette suss this for me?

Basically, I've got a pair of black jeans I want to wear on Saturday but both legs are covered in cat and dog hair. I've tried the washing machine obviously, which did no good. I've also tried a clothes brush and one of those roller yokes, neither of which did much good if I'm honest.

If I lash the jeans into the laundrette would they have some sort of super washing machines which can take the hair out?

Have a go at them with the vacuum cleaner nozzle. If your machine didn't wash the hair out, I don't think any other one would

Have you tried wrapping Sellotape around your hand (sticky side out) and going over the jeans with it? It's pretty good at getting hair out, better than a sticky roller.

Ah, yes you're after giving me all sorts of ideas. If sellotape works, then waxing strips would surely do the trick as well.

Wet a rubber glove and run it over them, works wonders on cat hair

Washing machine won't shift it. However, wash them and tumble dry them (not in a washer-dryer, it needs to be a normal tumble dryer) and the hair will all be removed and caught in the lint filter.

Waxing strips might leave a sticky residue on the jeans though. Try the Sellotape first :)

Sorry, didn't realise you had your hearing aid turned up.:o

And yeah, tumble dryer is your only job. Be sure and clean the filter though.

Helpful answer...get one of those rubber brushes for dogs, lay the jeans out flat and just brush them. Easy peasy.
    After hours answer ....
    1. Buy new jeans.
    2. Get rid of the cat and the dog and buy a new cat and dog the same colour as the new jeans.

Wear jeans and vacuum when on - put on a put of marigolds and rub the hairs off might work as well

    Burn the jeans

    What you need is:

    A metal bucket
    some sand
some outdoor garden space or a park
    Thick black marker

Put the sand in the bottom of the bucket
Put the jeans loosely on top (remove any money etc inadvertently left in the pockets )
Pour 1-2 litres of petrol over the jeans
    Drop a match in .....

All the dog/cat hair will be a passing memory

Use the black marker to draw a picture of the jeans on your skin for the night out

Spray jeans with hairspray then light on fire, hairspray keeps jeans from burning whilst burning off the hair

Might be easier to put the cat and dog in the washing machine and then the tumble dryer.

Surely there's a risk of shrinkage.

Not if you've got a proper tumble dryer and set it to low heat.

Jeans are usually totally safe to tumble-dry.

If the label has a circle in a square and 1 dot - dry on low.
Two dots - dry on high is OK.

Washer dryers tend to be way too hot and wrinkle / shrink everything (especially cheaper ones, loved by landlords). Some cheap condenser dryers are similarly over hot.

A proper dryer won't cause any issues.

If you're that concerned set it to cold - the air and tumbling will remove the fluff.
