Nexus 7 2013 tablet - still a good choice?

Hello, recently broke my flashy Samsung tablet and it costs so much to fix I think I'll buy a low price tablet. All I do is browse internet, read papers and watch Netflix from time to time.

I see the Nexus 7 2013 has the latest android update and none of the bloat that I detest in my Samsung (plus the lack of updates on the Samsung....) and is affordable however it is quite old. Is it very slow or should it be up to the task? Ideally it would last me at least two years.

I have one and it still works fine for me. It's still a good choice especially if you are looking for a 7" tablet.

I just added a Marshmallow rom to mine during the week and its still perfect. Good as new and just as fast. Hoping to get another 2 years out of it at least.

have one about a week, great piece of kit, 2gb ram, so it's pretty fast.

Great sounds good - will it automatically download android 6 over WiFi? I think I read it was an official update?

Theres a rumour doing the rounds that google are launching a new nexus 7 this year, maybe you could hold off and see if anything is announced at the google IO in may.

Ya still the best 7" tab around imo for the money, 2gb ram is the clincher. It's €136 in argos now and pretty much the same price on Amazon. I have mine now 2 years and running as smooth as day one.
There is alot of rumours about a new one coming out in the next few months but won't be out for a while and will probably launch at €250-€300 like the previous 2 versions. Best bet is buy one and sell it again if you fancy the new one when it comes out!

Still works well but check out the pricing on the Nvidia Shield K1 before buying.

That said, I'm still using my 2012 Nexus 7 for work with no bother. Both 7's were very solid devices.

Wonder what's the lowest they will go to in Argos. 16GB @ 135 for ages now. They are due a cut with the new one coming out soon!
