    Hi All,

My HTC one m8 needs a screen transplant (second time already) and I've another 14 months till my next upgrade. I was thinking of replacing it with the Huawei, I know it's a downgrade but I think I could live with the the 720p screen.

Any thoughts or experience with this phone? It seems to have good reviews.

    Thanks!

Happy enough with mine. Battery life is very good, camera does the job OK and screen is fine really, nice and bright.

Shame its on any old version of Android which I doubt will ever be officially upgraded, and the default home screen set up is meh but easily fixable.

Had the very occasional random reset and bit of lag from time to time, but no more resets than Samsung's I've had in the past.

Prefer it to my 2nd gen moto g. Isn't the replacement for the G7 coming out shortly though?

The last time this question was raised a heated debate started.

I have it almost a year and love it. No issues, even the build in phone manager app does a great job. Everyone comments how good the pictures and videos look. Its also dropped down from 280 to under 200.

it has been updated to lollipop, as far as I can see you have to do it yourself, not in update app(dont know why)
Just install nova launcher and set as default or any other launcher.

Has anone got to compare this phone to the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6? I think those are the 2 that I'd be considering, maybe the HTC Desire 620 as well, although it looks like the HTC would be my last choice.

Lollipop is available for it now, but you may have to update manually by downloading the file from Huawei - I did this, there were no problems. Supposedly it will be getting Marshmallow, but god knows when.

The EMUI skin over Android is a bit crap, but you can install the Nova launcher instead (or whatever is your own preference). I've been very happy with the phone - my only advice is to put it in a silicon case, the plastic case it comes with offers zero protection :(

I did have a look at their website but couldn't see the lollipop rom, I'll have to look again.

Was having a look to see what the story was with lollipop and the G7 and found this article.
Huawei issued a firmware update for the Ascend G7 in early January 2016 to bring the device up to Android 5.1 Lollipop. The update applies to the G760-L01 model of the device, and benefits users in Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Also they have it in the list for an update to marshmallow in the future.

Hi guys, was hoping someone here could help me. I have an Ascend G7, and everything is grand with it apart from one thing. Whenever I try to take photos in darkly lit places and I put my flash on, the photo ends up with a strong yellow hue. It doesn't matter whether the photo is taken indoors or outdoors, the hue will always appear. And if I leave the flash off, then it is just a really dark photo. I had an Ascend G7 before (it got robbed) and it had the same problem so I don't think it's a problem unique to my current phone.

Have you a cover on the phone?

    G7 is great phone.
Great build. Takes great pics pretty fast.
Just get it you won't regret.
Sure it's on 4.4 but I don't know about you but I never notice the difference with the updates anyway ha

the 5.1 update is available, just not from 3. It doesn't really add much though.

    Slightly different gui
One or two extra options in camera
    Can't install xposed framework
    Slightly louder sound
Some built in apps can't be uninstalled

    Yes, I do.

    Yes, I do.

Try without cover, a lot of them have the lense further in so the flash hits of the cover
