Must say I enjoyed that immensely. Long time since United got a result at the Bridge.

Good round for the bigger sides with all 8 of the higher ranked sides going through to quarters. 6 PL sides in the pot.

Will take anybody bar City but after two tough away fixtures I’m hoping for a home draw v Millwall.

I'd love to see Man City get Swansea and Man U get Millwall

Millwall away would be a very tough draw. The Den is a mare of a place to go and play.

I think everyone neutral now wants Man City drawn against Man U.

It'd be better if it was a semi or the final.

    This too shall pass.

Ye but the other 6 teams would rather they drew each other and open it for them to have a chance.

Wolves vs Man U should be a cracker.

Might aswell just give city a bye to the final.... FFs. Away to arsenal , Chelsea and wolves, nice stroll to the semis.

Jaysus. Cursed in this year’s draw. Only one worse possible outcome. Oh well.

    Patrick's weekend I think?

The football gods are giving City every chance to win all the cups. Incredible draws this year. Just phenomenal.

They've basically been able to play their B team in every cup game if they want, or at worst rest who they want, without fear of realistically losing.

A home draw would have been nice, but hey ho. It is what it is. Off to South Wales again.

Makes up for years of terrible draws! There was about 20’away matches in a row at one stage!

The best part of the draw for me aside from city getting some of the weakest teams is that our rivals keep drawing each other!!

Watford go 2 - 1 up against Palace with 11 minutes to go.

A really well taken second by Watford.

    Soft penalty for City.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,955 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

That wasn't a penalty. And Aguero is so lucky, his shot hit the post and was going back in to play, until it clipped the goalkeepers foot. It's gone down as an own goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,668 ✭✭✭eigrod

    Awful decision. Absolutely awful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,057 ✭✭✭Unearthly

    Offside

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,955 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Looks like Aguero was offside. 2 goals that shouldn't have counted.

These officials. Jesus Christ. Absolutely dreadful this.

Jesus Swansea have been robbed. Non penalty to equalize and offside goal to win it.
How on Earth is VAR not in use in what is a premier league standard ground.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,532 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Ridiculous that Swansea ended up actually being at a disadvantage for playing at home, with the lack of VAR. That situation desperately needs to change next season.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,116 ✭✭✭✭RasTa

English officials proving how terrible they are as usual. Although Pep said he wanted VAR, love to know what clubs rejected it.

I'd also like to know why the FA said it's ok for some but not all in the FA cup, makes no sense.

They were both incorrect decisions but both the kind that are very hard to ref in real time.

2 of the biggest advertisements for VAR you’ll get there.

Never a pen for one. Offside for another.

Offside goal in the League last week too.

Incredible what's going for them lately.

This was one of the most inevitable outcomes that most believed!

Feel sorry for them Swansea lads,it will be cutting to have this performance taken from them by incorrect decisions by the officials.

The offside is for the lino to see and he should’ve seen it - it wasn’t even close. And one of the two of them should have seen the Swansea defender put the ball out for a corner for the pen. Appalling decisions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,440 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Those weren't tough decisions. Especially the second one for the linesman. The Aguero movement was subtle rather than lightning speed. He should've seen that, sorry, he's looking down the line.

It was very close for the offside. Seeing the defenders slight touch on the ball is one thing to see with replays when it’s been pointed out to you. Whole different ballgame in real time.

These were incorrect decisions but far from howlers. These are the kinds of things that VAR fixes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,788 ✭✭✭Benimar

Fair to say that Andre Marriner has had better weeks. Poor call on the penalty (although the offside is on the linesman)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

The pro City agenda by the FA clear to be seen.

    Really is a worrying trend.

Also always getting away with the little decisions. Two players kicked the ball away, and Jesus with a deliberate foul to stop a Swansea player breaking away in injury time and the ref ignores it.

City have done this for a while. I'd wager all Guardiolas teams have. It's not enough that you have to play it the right way, their way. You're not allowed play at all. Tactical fouls to break up any semblance of play from the opposition.

They had over twice as much possession yet only 1 foul fewer. That doesn't stack up with a team who are supposed to be the be all and end all.

They are a great attacking team, no doubt, but they're a cynical one without the ball.

Sounds like smart play so the opposition don't get into a rhythm to me.

Ferandinho and Busquets are masters of it.
