    Fwiw this would have been my vote:

    The Office.

    Fair City isn't even a good soap.

    The Office US is excellent, well worth a watch for those who haven't seen it. Just blank out the last season or so when the quality starts to dip.

    Again, the quality dropped in later series but at its best it was clever, original and very, very funny

    I never really got Friends, just a poor man's Coupling ;)

    Definitely Friends. 25 years on and people still watch it regularly. It’s more a cultural phenomenon than a TV show.

    Red Dwarf - Classic series with really funny moments. Rimmer was fantastic character and couldnt be replicated when they tried to do a US version.

    Red Dwarf Seasons 1-6 were brilliant but later series just ruined it. Overall Friends is better throughout its full run, so I'm going with that, reluctantly.

    Gotta cast for Friends myself here, Red Dwarf wasn't my thing whereas Friends I still rewatch on occasion.

    Seasons 1-4 some of the best sitcom comedy still around.

    The 1st few seasons of red dwarf are brilliant!
    Very British, but very funny.
    Friends was a huge cultural phenom of my youth but Red Dwarf
