First movie you ever saw in the cinema: First movie I remember seeing is Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade (1989)

Movie you love that no one(you know) has heard of: Cube (actually bought it with my first ever DVD player - which was the size of a briefcase :D )

Movie you love that everyone else hates: Can I say Commando here? It has a huge cult following I know but many people would say it's certainly not conventionally a "good" movie...

Your desert island movie: Predator is probably my fav movie of all time, but I think I'll go with Godfather II here because it's longer and would kill more time on a dessert island :D

Your favourite mob movie: Oh crap.. tough one... I used Godfather II already so I'll say Casino or Heat (is Heat a mob movie??)

Movie that scared you the most: I generally avoid horrors cos I'm such a wuss but I can remember being terrified by Jaws (obviously) as a child.

First movie you ever saw in the cinema: The Aristocats (1971)

Movie you love that no one(you know) has heard of: The 5000 Fingers of Dr T

Movie you love that everyone else hates: Gone With the Wind

Your desert island movie: A difficult one, this. Sometimes I yearn to eat coconuts in the sun while watching North by Northwest, other times it is Paris, Texas - and yet other times it could be any one of the following: His Girl Friday, Yojimbo, Heat, Psycho, hell, even The Wizard of Oz. In the end, if it is only one, then it has to be Barry Lyndon.

Your favourite mob movie: Hawks' Scarface (1932) all the way.
Movie that scared you the most: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), hands down. Saw The Exorcist for the first time in the same week (I was 15 at the time) - didn't knock a feather out of me. Go figure. I have to say, though, while I am generally very hard to scare when it comes to horror films, my first viewing of Nosferatu sent the shivers up my spine. And for that sheer sense of dread, the only film that came close to Chain Saw is Romero's magnificent...no, not that one - this one: Day of the Dead (1985).

First movie you ever saw in the cinema: The Jungle Book (1967) on a re-release.

Movie you love that no one(you know) has heard of: Unthinkable (2010). A made for TV film starring Michael Sheen, Samuel L. Jackson and Carrie Ann Moss. An American Islamic convert turned terrorist is tortured by Samuel L. Jackson under the supervision of FBI Agent Carrie Ann Moss. Raises many serious questions about the effectiveness of torture and various moral ramifications. Some of the torture scenes are positively stomach-churning.

Movie you love that everyone else hates: Sin City II: A Dame To Kill For (2014). I loved this film! I thought it was great, action-filled and gory as hell. None of my mates liked it and the general consensus is that it is awful. But I, for some reason, loved it!

Your desert island movie: Dirty Harry (1971). No matter how many times I see this film, it remains eminently watchable. It isn't "Do you feel lucky, punk?!", but that doesn't mean that Harry Callahan hasn't been ingrained in pop culture ever since as the first rogue cop who played by his own rules!

Your favourite mob movie: Goodfellas (1990) or Casino (1995)

Movie that scared you the most: It (1990). I was never able to look at clowns quite the same after this. I think I was about 5 when I walked in to the living room and saw the opening scene with the sewer grate and the balloon. Cue me screaming and crying and having nightmares about killer clowns for months. :o

First movie you ever saw in the cinema: Went to see Ace Ventura Pet Detective with a friend and his mother, she deemed it innapropriate after 15 minutes so we went instead to an animated movie with dogs.

Movie you love that no one(you know) has heard of: Dead Or Alive 1/2, some madness from Takashi Miike, avoid the 3rd installment from the trilogy.

Movie you love that everyone else hates: Star Trek Generations.

    Your desert island movie: Solyaris.

    Your favourite mob movie: Sonatine.

Movie that scared you the most: Child's Play.

The first movie you ever saw in the cinema :
The Last Snows Of Spring & Last Feelings, a double feature in the late 70s.
Both were depressing tearjerkers with zero appeal to a child.

The movie you love that no one(you know) has heard of:
The Private Lives of Pippa Lee- love it, Robin Wright is excellent.

Movie you love that everyone else hates:
    Cannot think of one.

Your desert island movie: Shawshank Redemption or The Princess Bride.

Your favourite mob movie: Carlito's Way.

The movie that scared you the most:
Not a horror, but Patrick Bergin in Sleeping With The Enemy had me hiding under the cinema seat. Likewise the nanny in The Hand that Rocks The Cradle- seriously warped individuals.

First movie you ever saw in the cinema: One Hundred and One Dalmations (1961, on a re-release in either 93 or 94)

Movie you love that no one(you know) has heard of: The Emperor's Naked Army Marches On

Movie you love that everyone else hates: Southland Tales (theatrically released version)

Your desert island movie: Annie Hall

Your favourite mob movie: The Godfather Part II

Movie that scared you the most: really struggling to think of any, was asking my mam about this a bit ago too. I've never been scared by a film or anything like that very much. Possibly something like Wake In Fright?

Genuinely can't remember - probably some Disney one (early-mid 80s)

the movie you love that no one (you know) has heard of
    The Car

movie you love that everyone else hates
If threads here are any indication, my love for dumb Hollywood blockbusters and stupid comedies (Ted, Dodgeball etc) would probably qualify. I like the more thought-provoking stuff as well, but sometimes it's ok to leave your brain at the door too!

    your desert island movie
    Probably The Running Man

    your favourite mob movie
    Goodfellas

the movie that scared you the most
Original RoboCop. I was only a kid at the time and remember being aghast at the violence as Murphy is tortured and killed, and poor Mr Kenny is blown away by a malfunctioning Ed-209!

The First Movie you ever saw in the cinema: Rock-a-Doodle. One of Don Bluth's animated offerings in the early nineties. Can still remember my surprise at the lights dimming and wow look at the really, really big television.

The movie you love that no one(you know) has heard of: Difficult question.... Probably Bigger Than Life.

Movie you love that everyone else hates: Your Highness. Critics really hated it and I don't think I've met anyone who has claimed to really have enjoyed it. I can totally see why it's perceived as godawful but I've watched it three times and laughed at it's stupid, juvenile, vulgar humour each and every time. It's a great looking film with a starry cast and yet they blow it all on endless, endless dick jokes and silly first take goofs. I kind of find that charming in a weird way.

Your Desert Island Movie: Raiders of The Lost Ark. I'd like to go with something deep and profound, but if you're only going to be allowed to bring one, that you'll have to watch again and again until you can play it on the inside of your eyelids, it's probably best to go with sheer entertainment, with a touch of class of course.

Your Favourite Mob Movie: Goodfellas. There might be better mob movies but it's the most entertaining. So much energy.

The Movie that scared you the most: Jurassic Park. I didn't know what had hit me. I was really far too young to be seeing it on the big screen. Straight from the first scene my young bladder was near a squirtin' from fear. I remember the noise more than anything else. I turned away from the screen at one point and was amazed to see the faces of everyone behind me, just calmly taking the movie in. Why weren't they terrified? What was wrong with these full grown adults? Glad to report that I've got over it since and seen many other movies which qualify as scary in the more traditional sense, but at the time...... scared witless.

    Great thread.
