Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Here's a brief outline of the rules posters are expected to follow when posting on this forum:

    1. No links or promotion of warez, piracy, or backing-up games.

    2. Attack the post, not the poster. Disagreements are encouraged, but don't stoop to name-calling or bickering.

    3. This board is for Playstation-related posts only. If you want to talk about other consoles or systems, do so on the relevant boards. Posts regarding multi-format games etc. should be posted to the Games board.

    4. If you have a problem, report the post.

    5. No discussion on game sharing/swapping as of December 2009. Sony have updated their T&C's for PSN to disallow this act unless you are re-installing games on your own second or replacement PS3. They will ban you for game sharing, and as such boards.ie cannot facilitate discussion on game sharing anymore.

    6. No buying or selling on thread. Use www.adverts.ie.

    7. Absolutely no discussion on how to evade restrictions on geographically locked content. This includes posts that describe the use of proxies, VPNs and browser add-ons, along with questions like "How do I watch the US Netflix on my console?"
    Absolutely no discussion on purchasing products that require the use of a false address. This includes buying from different Playstation Store regions or anywhere that requires a fake address.

    Hi all,

    Please note the new rules regarding discussion of regional workarounds. This basically means no explaining how to circumvent technical or practical restrictions on content from different regions.

    This change is being rolled out across the games category after much discussion between the mods and input from the admins. If you have any questions about it, please feel free to drop myself or F1ngers a PM.

    Edit: Just to clarify - you can still highlight bargains on the likes of the US PSN - that's all out in the open anyway :) However, any discussion of how to purchase games from different regions will be deleted.
