So there I was, homeward bound, wind at my back, and I decided to take the back road, for quietness & scenery, but mainly as I knew the main road had a few patches of running water on it, but.......my progress was halted with only a kilometer to reach the main road again ! doh !

I had to turn around, head back into the wind and go through the mini rivers that awaited me on the other stretch......

    /all in a day's cycling :pac:

Seriously though, there's some amount of water lying about in the fields. I'm not sure when they will eventually drain away, maybe new lakes have been formed !!

It would be classed as very unwise, but I reckon I'd have tried to go through that!

Just outside Arklow 30th December, after the first of the storms. The blue sky was deceptive, it was lashing most of the day. The water was about 2 ft deep and 50m long, neither cars or bikes were getting through, we had to back track to the N11.

I believe it's to mark the Wild Atlantic way touring route

Brown backed signs are heritage signs, so it wouldn't be with regard to road condition

Lovely morning to be out and about, did one of my usual morning loops, 38km around through Allenwood and Lullymore, great to be able to stretch the legs a bit even if I'm on the easy list for another week or two.

Edit: How did I manage to get this into the wrong thread, apologies, if a mod would like to move this to the tell us about your cycle today thread please go ahead.

A bit damp today, avoiding the new streams on the road made things .. umm ... interesting.

3 days ago the mountain was 1/3rd covered in snow, yesterday afternoon was one of the nicest days in weeks :)

    Snow all gone

These rolling hills are only about 6km from the centre of New Plymouth or 2km from where my new house will be; making for some really nice evening short spins.

Forecast was for rain here today but turned out to be a great day for cycling, if a bit windy. Sligo and Donegal in the sun.:) How do you get the photos to show in the message?

How do you get the photos to show in the message?[/QUOTE]
A fellow boardie gave me this advice to ensure they open in post

    - Once you have them attached, click on them.
    - This will open up the pic from the URL it is located at.
    - Copy the URL from the address bar above
    - Go into your message options and select the image icon, paste in the link you have copied and then click preview to make sure its coming out OK. Then submit

Or even easier which is whati have been doing is set up a photobucket account and it gives an url for each Pic.

Standard-issue trundle out the road to Aherla. Nothing much to report, aside from the wonder that a lightweight like myself is doing any "discretionary" cycling at all at the crack of March. GEDC3488.JPG
