According to Supernatural he does, although he's apparently on holiday somewhere.

I dont have the proper vocabulary to explain this properly, and i'm not articulate enough to get it right anyway,it's just that when you think about nature, think about the way things just fit, think about how big our world is,and yet how tiny it is in comparison to anything else we know of in this universe, think of all the things that have to be out there unknown to us,the sheer size of everything,i can't believe that there isn't a god

Actually, that's a pretty good job of it. To contrast with it, though, I'd point out that we're one of eight planets circling an unremarkable sun far out on one arm of an unremarkable galaxy in an unremarkable district of the universe. If the universe was created by a god for us to live in, he or she left an awful lot of empty space. Given the sheer number of galaxies (at least two hundred billion), and the sheer number of stars in each galaxy (between two and four hundred billion in the Milky Way alone), I'm inclined to think that our existence is simply proof of the fact that even if the odds are 8,000,000,000,000,000,000 to one, you'll probably get that one if you get to roll the dice eight hexillion (I have no idea if hexillion is actually a word) times. The reason we perceive everything as being just right for us is because it has to be for us to be able to perceive it.

Oh and thinking about all the millions of things that had to have happened for us to exist as we do now...it's just crazy
And yet other than within the bubble of atmosphere on this tiny planet the entire 99.9999999999999999999 % of the known universe is utterly hostile and lethal to us...HIS creation........... odd that.
And if this Universe and its life really is so amazing that it had to be created then the thing which created it must be even more amazing... so how did that get here:eek:

Has anyone heard what the cannibal said about ecumenism?

These days all the Christian missionaries taste the same.:)

The OP is incorrect, though. Sadly, religion does exist. Just look at the world and all the problems it has caused.

What doesn't exist is any rational basis for religion, but that's another matter.;)

Religion does exist, but it's not true. Just like the way God exists, but in the same way as Harry Potter, as a fictional character.

But what if that space isn't empty? Maybe the time for that to become something hasn't arrived yet.or maybe something is happening there that we just dont have the capacity to understand.

And I dont see how we would just be convinced that everything is perfect because thats what we have to see it to be,i mean the very fact that we exist now,are as advanced as we are, work as well as we do,live in pretty perfect habitats ...it is perfect.we wouldn't be here to argue over this stuff if it didn't happen so perfectly

using the logic of the thread thus far

religion>religeon>realageon>realaleaon>realalien>aliens are real>therefore god does not exist.

If you travelled to the outer reaches of the universe and looked back towards Earth you would see precisely nothing. Earth would be like an infinitesimally small speck of dust, completely invisible even with the aid of a powerful telescope.

So we are completely irrelevant, in the grand scheme of things.

we wouldn't be here to argue over this stuff if it didn't happen so perfectly

But taking that perspective is looking at the likelihoods the wrong way round. In a universe with absolute minimum eight billion billion stars, life will probably crop up somewhere eventually - it's probably a simple question of odds, and of running the experiment enough times to get it right for life to happen. But marvelling at the perfection of earth is somewhat akin to a darts player flinging a dart at the wall, painting a dartboard around it, and then marvelling at his triple 20. There's nothing special about this planet; it just happens to be the one where life developed. If it turned out that another planet entirely happened to end up as being ideal for the development of life, then we'd be there, marvelling at that planet's perfection - the reason we find ourselves on such a perfect planet is because we'd die on all the other ones.

You make a good point desert. But still is there no amazement at the fact that the likelihood is so small and yet it did happen?

What's perfect? The humans running around being affected by cancer and viruses? How many people need glasses to correct their vision in their life times? You can't even attempt to procreate freely nowadays without running the risk of biological injury. Most environments on this planet alone will kill you in short thrift unless you do your utmost to prevent that. Even the Sun, ultimately the only input of energy into the system we have will **** you up willy nilly. Most of the surface of the Earth is water and uninhabitable to us. Most of that is full of salt and unfit for drinking. Wasps, wasps and ants fucking everywhere. Perfect? I'd give it a D+ if I was feeling particularly generous.

    And that's just Earth.
