Without reading the thread, I knew 100% upon clicking on it that a thread about potential crimes committed by the Israeli state against Palestinians would of course be hijacked by allegations of anti semitism.

You can despise an establishment without despising civilians, just as I despise utterly the entire Irish establishment whilst being an Irishman myself. In the words of Ann Grimes, to the people who are hijacking the thread and making it an anti semitism thread, "AH HEYOR!!! LEAVE IT BLEEDIN' OUUUU"

Of course people are going to cry anti-semitism. You may not know this, but there are many people out there who struggle to find another reason for the obviously disproportionate criticism of Israel.

I'm not convinced anti-semitism plays any serious part myself, but surely you can see how people (particularly Jews) have come to this conclusion.

It's lazy, simplistic thinking. An easy cheapshot to throw out by apologists for the Israeli government's policy on Palestine.

It can be. But its obviously going to crop up. Clearly a large amount of Israel's enemies in the region ARE anti-semitic so its a key part of the conflict.

I seen a documentary on Saddam Hussein made in 2000 and you can hear many anti-semitic speeches made by him and his generals. Of course, the many left-wingers on here are probably huge fans of Saddam because he was an enemy of big, bad capitalist America.

I always find it funny when most socialists and commies show their true colours by supporting Palestine but couldn't give a sh.it about Americans falling from the Twin Towers because every American in those buildings were: "fat, rich capitalists and better off dead because they're demoralizing the proletariat."

Generalizations and bigotry is fine and dandy when the left do it. Double standards doesn't apply to these people.

Anyway, like I said before, socialists and commies don't actually care about the Palestinians - they're just jumping on the "hate America" bandwagon because Israel are supported by the U.S.

Anti Israel certainly, but have a read of Saddam's personal doctors book, where Saddam was complimentary of Jews in general and indeed bought medical equipment from Israel. He also bemoaned the fact that the Iranian Jewish population had declined. So not quite the black and white picture. Then again you probably believe the Iranian prez said "Israel should be wiped off the map" when the phrase doesn't even exist in Persian.
Of course, the many left-wingers on here are probably huge fans of Saddam because he was an enemy of big, bad capitalist America.
I have never and I do mean never heard any Irish socialist come out with support for Saddam and I've known some right handwringing lefties. You do realise that the west and America originally supported Saddam because he was agin the "Ragheads in Eyeraaan"? Just like they funded the Jihaddis in Afghanistan because they were agin the "Cooommies". Then again they were "freedom fighters" back then.
I always find it funny when most socialists and commies show their true colours by supporting Palestine but couldn't give a sh.it about Americans falling from the Twin Towers because every American in those buildings were: "fat, rich capitalists and better off dead because they're demoralizing the proletariat."
I do hope you had a few ales before you typed that lot up, cos I really really don't see where you're getting any of that. Again I have never heard even the most pinko left winger come out with that. You've missed your calling as a Fox newsreader, or maybe you're practicing writing for the Onion and this is all satire. I would hope so.

I think you'll find te right are more prone to generalisations and bigotry and I say that as someone somewhere to the right of Attila the Hun.
Anyway, like I said before, socialists and commies don't actually care about the Palestinians - they're just jumping on the "hate America" bandwagon because Israel are supported by the U.S.
Compared to many on here I'm a rightwinger, I like much about America, am highly dubious about much of the middle east, support the notion of Israel, yet I look at how the Palestinians have been driven from their ancestral lands into ever smaller ghettos and think WTF?

I would respectfully suggest that if you're an American try reading more history books, don't watch Fox news and get more generally informed about the region and it's history on both sides. If you're Irish then why do you sound like a character from Dr Strangelove? Next they'll be after your precious bodily fluids.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I'm no Israel fan, not really a hater either, but this one is a bit flimsy, a bit like blaming Ireland should some lads in Ballsbridge beat a lad from Newry to death. Teenaged boys do some fcked up stuff, go figure. And people press "delete" by mistake. I know I do.

I tend to keep multiple copies of important files. That is just how I roll.
Probably wouldn't delete anything that I had just burned to cd without checking it (not that I burn anything to cd, it isn't the 1990s).

You'd be no use to the Israeli Police so.
