I'm seriously looking at getting a semi automatic in 22wmr (Winchester magnum rimfire)

Anyone know of a good make or model of 22wmr. There prob isn't too many out there but I like any direction or opinion for those in the know.

I once see a nice takedown Bruno 22wmr advertised here, pity I didn't buy it at the time..

Thanks for the advise or help.

Ruger does or did 10/22 magnum version. Pretty expensive to feed mind.

I had a Remington 597 laminate heavy barrel in 22 WMR, a fantastic gun. I see a second hand one in outdoor sports Mullingar

    Your looking for a Brno 611/ 611a

2 different animals and 2 different users.
A 611 is gun manufactured to tolerance a 611A is manufactured to price, and to a different standard.rather than typing bolderdash,
    See here comparison;
    http://www.saubier.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19061

I fliped a HMR for one, I now own a 21 year old 611 and I'll be burried with it. I had a horrid time getting it threaded to look authenthic for iron sights, but that passed, and we removed the front sight 19 1/2" barrell, solid as twepence with the Sak2 from Paddy Carley on it.
BTW; all manufacturers apart from Brno were requested to discontine 17 SA, I was thinking of getting mine re barrelled - except the orignal barrel could not be removed - torqued in to over 180" lbs pounds with locking agent.

I now have it as my every day walker, will put 6 hornadys in an inch, inch & half, but will also mulla 6 win 40 in 3/4" at same range.
Rabbits to 230 / 240 if your comitted and dial in correctly. Zero a 100 and blast monkey which I did when I first got it and often still do best €30 or €45

I was buying .222 rounds off Paddy Carley, as as it, bing I'm having you evewn if it costs a rifle licence. it wasn't like I wanted it - end of I WAS GOING TO HAVE.We settled on and argreable price I paid, I smiled.
Be Weary, there are next to no spare parts available, I was lucky enough to know a fella that worked on them back in the time and geat a full service kit for it.

Rifile, spare magazines, Picatinny scope rail. bipod stud, bipod rail, Sak2 moderator,l thinking I'm selling mine in Ireland?

    Magazines are mad money.......................................
    http://riflemags.co.uk/brno-611-10-round-22wmr-17hmr-magazine-zkm-611-617/
thats for the CZ 17hmr/22wmr mass produced one
this is for orig, that will suit a ZKM 617 also

Good luck with your search, I know a few with 611's and car / jeep / van will go before the rifle.

I would never consider a rem 597 over a 611, simply because of the trigger the rem has a 3lb sow of a trigger the brno a 1.5lb moist queen in comparision.

I'll lap you a comp photo @ the week when I back home. I don't know about others, but I'd not part with mine. I said coffin gun when I did the business, hopefullly I have 10 or 15 years.

    Choice - Wise
    Method - unWise.

There was feck all of the 611's imported into ireland.

Only advice is see, inspect and use.

UK dealers, more but abused. I once saw a old moldel for £150 and sent it to see off Dover rather that be riddled to smoth bore

So as not to build your hopes up,

In a word "Nyea" or Never, a Rem 597 will be perfect for a you yq laughing baboon as yourself

but if a Tom Knapp edition comes along I'll offload happily my plain 611 to you! for circa €1,000, thats mags and stuff, we have parties basesd on calabire

About Me; I buy guns I d'ont trade or rent them, Home for life (& after) in some cases !same for dogs (I never met a dumb dog but I often met many stupid owners, too dumb to train) :)

Best of luck with quest, if find an Lol :D 611 that need spares to make it right (apart from the astrix's)
I was looking for 8 years for my little cared for and minded 611Attachment not found.

I'll upload some 611 porn tomorrow. :D bring it for a walk, light as a feather and more pointable than a pistol.

( most greedy 611 owners realised their parts where more than than gun complete so part sold them  unlucky, few committed owners stayed the course )

because Tom Knapp used one to shot asprins - http://centerofthewest.org/2014/02/07/tom_knapp/
    if that's your thing :P

    ROFL
